Integra laid comfortably in her bed, the Egyptian cotton sheets wrapped around her in a warm embrace. Her head was turned away from the windows that night. The moon's red glow shining through them reminded her of adventures past. She kept her eyes closed, hoping sleep would finally come to save her from the memories making her long for her servant of 30 years before. Then, suddenly, she felt a presence. It came out of nowhere, as if it had suddenly popped into existence. She didn't have much time to ponder how the entity had appeared so quickly however, because an all too familiar smell soon filled her nose. It was an old, decaying smell; a smell of something that should have reached its end long ago, something that insulted God simply by existing—a vampire. She reached for her gun that she habitually kept next to her under the covers, but still kept her sleeping facade. She intended to catch the vampire by surprise, thereby increasing her chances of staying alive. The creature was stronger and faster than she, and making the first attack could make all the difference. She heard the footsteps of the creature creak closer to her bed, and closer yet as they stepped off of the floorboards and onto the rug. She stayed calm through its approach, waiting until she was sure of its location for the perfect shot. Then, the footsteps stopped. It was right next to her. She heard its close crumple together as it bent down to her neck. Its hot breath moistened her neck. She heard the snaps and pops of its saliva as it opened its mouth and prepared to- BANG BANG BANG. She unleashed the revolver's ammunition on the beast, sending bullets into its dead flesh several times. When she decided that she had killed or at least mortally wounded it, she finally got a look at her would-be assailant. Then, she realized, it was him. It was Alucard, her loyal servant from decades before. He was back. After 30 long years, he finally came back to her.
Unlike her, he had not changed physically at all, aside from the already healing gunshot wounds she had given him. While she now donned an eye patch and many wrinkles stained her face, he remained young and flawless-looking. "Alucard," she breathed. "It's been 30 years."
"Yes," he said as he gathered himself and stood back up. "I've finally returned." He went on to tell his former master about his long journey through the nothingness, about killing every person he had ever killed before in order to regain himself. Integra listened to his story in awe, but realized after he finished that she had forgotten her manners. "Alucard," she started. "After all of what you just described, what can I offer you?" He smiled and pulled her close. His gloved hands held both her back and head, and they looked into each other's eyes. His eyes were just as red as Integra remembered, and his black hair still a mess. He lowered himself in order to come face-to-face with her and said, "Imma need about tree fiddy." It's about this time that Integra realized Alucard was 8 stories tall and a crustacean from the Paleolithic era! That goddamned Lochness monster tricked her again!
