Kirk POV:
They had nothing to say to each other…
Kirk attempted to smile his most used smile, or as Scotty calls it, his 'I didn't do it smile'. Waking up in bed with his best friend and medical officer didn't disturb Jim in the slightest.
"Bones…? What Happened?"
Kirk whispered to the man next to him in his captain's double size bed. Jim had one of the biggest beds on the ship due to the fact the he rarely sleeps alone. His smile grew in size as he remembered bits of last night. Jim had been rejected for the tenth time by Janice. So like all the other times he needed help with the opposite sex (which let's face it barely ever happens), Jim turned to his best friend, Leonard McCoy. If the problem did not involve feelings he would have turned to his other best friend and first officer, Spock. Bone's first response to heartache was to turn to his liquor cabinet and pull out a bottle of Jack Daniel's Whiskey and proceed to drink the entire contents of the bottle. And Jim, being captain, couldn't let his medical officer get wasted alone, so from the kindness of his heart, he helped McCoy empty two bottles. After that he couldn't remember a thing. Hoping that Bones could inform him he tried to prod him awake. As Jim did so he realized that both he and Bones were in the buff. Well now, what do we have here? Jim asked himself mentally. He smiled slightly and lifted the blanket that covered the two to sneak a peek at his medical officer. He instantly dropped the covers back down at the sight of Bones. Jim shrugged and decided it didn't matter and he snuggled up to Bone's back and fell back asleep.
