Baby mine, don't you cry

Baby mine, don't you cry.
Baby mine, dry your eyes.
Rest your head close to my heart,
Never to part,
Baby of mine.

Gaara looked out on his village in the sand, Suna. The village that shuns him every day of his live. He wished he could cry, but no tears would escape his face. Once, just once in his life, Gaara wished that someone would hold him, talk to him…not be afraid.

Little one when you play,
Don't you mind what they say.
Let those eyes sparkle and shine,
Never a tear,
Baby of mine.

Neji sat in the place his father used to read to him. His father was gone now. He was alone. His uncle had come to visit him once, but it wasn't the same. How could he accept condolences from the man who would have his brother die for his own mistake? Neji wished, just once, that someone would understand and truly care…but no one did.

If they knew sweet little you
They'd end up loving you two.
All of those people who scold you
What they'd give just for the right to hold you.

Naruto sat upon the swing outside the academy. No one would ever dare approach him, unless it was to torment him. The only person in the village who would look at him without hate was his teacher; the only way he could ever get the attention he craved wad to make himself a clown. It hurt, deep down, to know that people would only ever laugh at him. Not for the first time in his live, Naruto wished he could have a friend…a brother.

From your head down to your toes,
You're not much, goodness knows.
But you're so precious to me,
Sweet as can be,
Baby of mine.

Sakura hid from her bullies in the large forest outside Konoha. Tears were streaming down her face. She clenched her fists into balls near her chest, trying to ignore the aching in her heart, the ache of knowing that she would never belong. She knew that the people who bullied her would never truly stop. Sometimes, she wished people would respect her as a person rather than bully her for looking different…but they never would.

If they knew sweet little you,
They'd end up loving you too.
All those same people who scold you,
What they'd give just for the right to hold you.

Sasuke wandered his empty clan grounds. Loneliness plagued his mind, attacking his heart at every chance it got. This was his home; where he learnt to walk, talk and function as a person. Where he followed his brother around, begging for training. This was where his brother committed the murder of his entire family. Every time Sasuke sees this place, he wishes that he wasn't alone…but there was nothing he could do.

From your head down to your toes
You're not much, goodness knows.
But you're so precious to me,
Sweet as can be,
Baby of mine.

Gaara turned to his siblings, both smiling at him as he received his new title as Kazekage. He was loved.

Neji nodded to his uncle, bowing to the man in front of him as he explained what really happened to his father. Someone understood.

Naruto grinned at Jiraiya and hurried to catch up with his friends in the village. He was acknowledged.

Sakura wiped her brow as she finished extracting the poison from Kankuro's body; she turned and saw the awe on Naruto and Kakashi's faces. She was respected.

Sasuke looked up into the rainy sky and then back down at his dead brother. He was alone.

Baby of mine…
