This is my first attempt at poetry, but I thought I'd try anyway. Enjoy.

Selfish

The warmth of your embrace,
The gleam in your eye,
And the smile on your face,
What happened to you brother?
Since the heat of the fire,
The death of our mother,
I've cared for you,
I've lost everyone, Sam,
Now I've lost you too.

That night you died,
There was so much blood,
I held you close and cried,
I screamed: What do I do!
I'd sell my soul,
Who knew?
Then I was in the pit,
With you up here,
While the hell fire bit.

Despite the pain,
I needed my brother,
So I brought you back again,
But you say that was wrong of me,
You were ready to die,
And I should have left you be,
Being alone is hellish,
And I've lost everyone, Sam
Maybe it's time I get a little selfish.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. If you feel like giving a review, that'd be great. As I said, this is my first poetry attempt.

I hope you have had/are having a great day.
