It was dark and cold outside on this night, the night of the fire light festival.

Her mother was going to meet her back at the bon fire with a very unhealthy amount of food, half of which she was suppose to supply.

She had been walked to the burger stand and that's when she saw him; after running into each other all day, and him leaving every time, she announced that she got to leave first.

He chased after her after she ran and when he caught up to her and made her stop, he told her something he thought he would never say to her.

So there she was, standing in the middle of the street, staring at him, shocked by what he just said.

"I love you." He had said to her after chasing her through the streets.

Rory had felt her heart ignite, a flutter spread from her stomach throughout her whole body and her heart skipped a few beats. This was the moment she had waited for over a year.

As quickly as the happy feeling came, it left.

As she saw him begin to walk away and her whole world came crashing down around her. The back of his head containing thick locks of hair that she loved to run her fingers through was strutting back to his car in a very Jess-like manor.

She couldn't let him leave, not again, she didn't know if she was able to make it through that kind of pain once more.

Rory had tears in her eyes as she screamed out to him.

"Jess, wait!"

He stopped upon hearing her out burst.

"Why?" He answered, peering over his shoulder slightly.

"Because…" She started, searching for something to say. Something that would make him stay.

So she chose something she had said before, but unlike last time, she meant it.

"Because I love you, you idiot!" She told him and he slowly turned around to face her.

Then before Rory could register what was happening, she was being swept off her feet by Jess's strong arms.

Rory felt his soft but rough lips against hers and a feeling that she thought had died long ago was reborn within her.

She returned his kiss, her eagerness matching his.

When they finally broke apart, after what seemed like ages, Rory looked into Jess's coffee colored eyes and asked him, "What took you so long?"

He replied to her, "I don't know, I was stupid for ever thinking for even a moment that I could live my life without you." His voice was husky and deep with lust.

"If you ever leave again I'll kick your ass Mariono." She said, half joking, half serious.

"I'm going to have to hold you to that Gilmore." He told her, smirking that smirk that she had missed so much.

I know it's not the best thing I've ever written but it just came to me and wouldn't leave.
