"STOP!" Emma screams as she rushes out of Granny's.
"No, leave me alone." Clear pain and annoyance in the other women's voice.
"Fuck, you can walk fast when you want to!" she is practically running to keep up. "Fuck sake Regina will you just stop and hear me out?!"
She spins round so fast Emma Nearly runs straight into her. Face to face. "WHAT?! What could you possibly have to say now?!" she spits in the blondes face. Her eyes are bloodshot from trying to keep the tears from falling.
Emma just wants to hold her and tell her everything is going to be Ok."I… I'm sorry Regina. I didn't think."
"No. You clearly didn't, Miss Swan. Is that all or can I go Now?" her voice is quieter but the venom is still there as she turns to leave.
She takes a step closer grabbing Reginas wrist before she takes off again. "I didn't mean to hurt you like this." Emmas voice is barley a whisper. "I would never purposely hurt you, Regina…I…please. Please don't walk away from me, not like this." she bows her head the tremble in her voice makes her feel weak. Defenceless.
"You didn't want to but you did. Every time you try and help you make my life worse." the tears are finally streaming down her face. She turns to face the saviour once more.
She lifts her head slightly looking at Regina through her eyelashes. It breaks her heart to see her like this."I'm sorry. How…what can I do?"
"Leave me alone." she tries to pull her wrist out of the princess's grip but it tightens.
"Don't. Don't ask me to do that. Please…I don't think I can. I don't think I'd be able to." her own tears start staining her cheeks from the request.
Anger finally takes over the Evil Queen. "Why!? Why can't you just leave me alone? You want to destroy my life even more. You've already taken Henry. Now. Now this? You truly want to destroy everything for me don't you!" she's screaming but her voice keeps breaking, like she's saying these words hoping they're not true.
"What? You don't really think I want to hurt you? You think I did this on purpose?" that received a huff and a 'Duh' face from the Mayor. "God, Regina! I don't want to hurt you. I never wanted to! I'd do anything! ANYTHING! But I can't do that Regina I can't leave you, I can't… I don't…" the more she speaks the more it hurts that Regina would request that of all things.
"Then why? Why can't you leave me alone?" her voice is back down, holding Emmas gaze…
She looks from the chocolate brown eyes to the red plump lips. Her right hand still holding Reginas left wrist she decides to throw her left hand in the Mayors rich brown hair and pull her forward locking their lips. It takes a few moments but Regina begins to move with her, using her free hand to grab the saviour's jacket and pull her closer deepening the kiss. Emma finally let's go of her wrist and it meets with her other hand tangles in the Mayors hair.
Being surprised she didn't get pushed away straight away and sent flying by Reginas magic she pulls away slightly receiving a whimper from the Mayor. Placing their foreheads together with their breath mixing in the cold Maine air She smiles "Because, Regina Mills." she takes one last deep breath "I love you."
Regina closes her eyes and fights back a sob. "I know. But we can't." she untangles herself from the saviour and runs away down an alleyway. Slamming her back against a wall she slides down taking her knees in her arms and let's out all the tears she was holding. In the distance she can hear Emmas muffled cries quietly.
