On the 26th December 1984, Lucas Moretto was born in Florence, Italy, the only child to a British mother, Marie and Italian father, Luciano. The family didn't stay in Italy long, only 2 years later they moved to London, England and Luciano began to build up his empire, known today as Moretto & Son Accounting.
Lucas lived a fairly normal and settled life, but being an only child, he was sometimes glad of the fact that he was eventually sent to boarding school. For a while, Lucas followed his father's wishes and went through college and university to study for a degree in Accounting, though little did his father know, Lucas had submitted an application to the British Army whilst going through his final year and was subsequently accepted.
Upon completion of his degree, at age 21, Lucas joined the Royal Logistics Corps as a Private of Her Majesty's Army, much to his father's dismay, who had desired to have him immediately join the work force of the family company. Objections fell on deaf ears and Lucas was eventually deployed in Helmand Province, Afghanistan as an Interrogations Officer.
The time he spent on deployment changed Lucas; he became easily pushed to breaking point, his attitude towards life and others taking a complete turn for the worse, and fear of anything that he may face in life, was something he simply laughed at. After months of watching Lucas become a completely different person, his father somehow convinced him to take a job within the family business, giving Lucas something to focus on. Learning to eventually suppress and control this destructive side of him, things went well for a few years, until the day Lucas learned of his father's plans to one day; have him take over the company completely. Adamant that this was not what he wanted for the remainder of his life, Lucas decided upon taking leave from work and home. He made little plans beyond arranging visa's and hotels, randomly choosing a place to visit first, simply because the name of the small town caught his eye; Mystic Falls, Virginia, USA.
Here in Mystic Falls, Lucas was introduced to the world of vampires, witches and other supernatural entities, but it was now where he called home. Lucas had made steadfast friends here and was happier than he had been in years, but most important of all, this was where he met and fell in love with Rebekah Mikaelson, one of the Original vampire's. The connection he felt with her was instant and ingrained so deep within his heart and soul, he knew he could never be without her, that if she were taken from him, he would walk through the remaining years of his life in pain, merely existing and not living.
