You and I Collide

"The dawn is breaking, a light shining through. you're barely waking and I'm tangled up in you."

Takes place before "Secret, part one" During play practice.

"Hey, green peas."

She jumps at the sudden deep voice, and then quickly exhales. "Jay, you scared me."

"It's almost you're cue," he says lowly behind her, toying with a strand of her golden locks. "Are you nervous?"

Jay traces his finger down her spine slowly, gently, and her blood freezes. She can't breathe. She can't move. And even though he's behind her, she can feel his light brown eyes watching her, raking over her body. He wraps his hands around her waist gently.

"I am," she says softly. "But not for that reason."

She lets his hands wander up and down her arms, closing her eyes because it relaxed her muscles. With Jay's strong, inviting hands caressing up and down her arms, surrounding her and warming her ice-cold skin, it made her feel like there was no one else in the world except her and Jay. Like she was her only girl. Like Alex didn't exist. He was her escape, her path to fantasize that maybe she wasn't the dull, predictable Emma.

That maybe she was special.

She could feel his breath in her hair. It gave her goosebumps. "You should go," she breathes. "Before..."

"Before it gets fun?" He whispers, almost challenging.

"When it gets fun, it gets dangerous." She reminds him, and then hating herself for not letting go, having a little fun. After all, maybe sometimes danger could be worth it. But then, by the way that her heart beat a little faster and her thoughts raced a little quicker when he was around, Jay made her wonder if maybe it wasn't just for the danger. Maybe it was for more.

"I just wanted to let you know," He says. "When I'm kissing Alex, I'll be thinking of you."
