The Price of Treason

Loki Laufeyson, rightful king of Asgard and the God of Mischief, lounges on the golden throne that once belonged to Odin. His only companions, a pair of silent guards stand in the shadows. Tonight he is more brooding than usual after hearing some disturbing but not surprising news. Very little escapes his attention- the whispers of those who circle him in his court, the stares of his people, and the lies of those who pretend to be his friends.

The weight of the crown has made him brutal. Two years after his brother's banishment and subsequent return to Asgard and his mother's death has changed him, made him harden his already cold heart. Tonight he knows something is brewing so he sits, watches and waits.

He does not have to wait for long before his brother and staunch supporter enters the echoing chamber pushing a redheaded woman in front of him. As they approach, Loki can see that Thor has the woman by the back of the neck, his long slender fingers entwined in her ember colored locks. She wears her emotions upon her face not bothering to hide anything. Anger, rebellion and fear wage war in her eyes. Only her restraints are keeping her from either running or fighting.

Thor shoves the woman towards the throne with pleasure. "Brother! I have brought you a present! I found this one skulking around the hallways with this on her." He holds out a wicked looking dagger of ebony. Loki gets up from his casual position and walks down the stairs towards them. The hatred and anger in her eyes warms his cold bones and stirs something deeper inside him. He ignores Thor's use his familial name instead of his title. "Good job brother. You know how fond I am of redheads." He proceeds to carcass his prisoner's face. "What nothing to say? Cat got your treacherous tongue?" He roughly jerks her head up to meet his eyes.

"I have nothing to say to you monster but this!" With a simple twist, Thor releases her bindings. She grabs the knife from his hand and lunges towards Loki but her actions are met with empty air. He then materializes beside her with his own knife at her throat. Dismissing his double, his eyes lock with Thor's over her head as he signals his guards. "You disappoint me Brother. I was so hoping what my spies told me wasn't true." The guards place a restraining collar on the first born prince of Asgard and drag him away as he curses.

When all is quiet again Loki addresses his would be assassin as he runs his other hand through her hair and down her neck before stopping at her cleavage. "So what should I do with you?" He gives her a wicked smile before kicking her legs out from under her, sending her falling to the floor. He stalks her as she crawls backwards to be eventually trapped by the cold marble wall behind her. With no where to go she screams a prayer of "oh god!" Loki just smiles again. "Yes. Now you must pay the price of treason." He grabs her chin again and proceeds to undo his belt buckle. "Get up on your knees and show me how you worship your god and rightful king."
