This was just an idea that popped into my mind one day while I was sitting on the couch watching the television. So this'll be my second fanfic and I'm so happy that it's finally done. Though it might not seem like much, it took me almost an hour to write. (I can only imagine how long it would take if I ever decided to write a multi-chapter story.) I greatly appreciated the reviews I got on my first story, and I'd love to get some pointers on this one too. Please drop a comment and let me know what you thought of it.
Summary: A very brief conversation between Demyx and Zexion in the hallway of Castle Oblivion.
Disclaimer: I still don't own Kingdom Hearts. Unfortunately.
I could hear him halfway down the bleak hallway of the castle way before I could see him - strumming on that annoying over-grown banjo of his. If you listened closely, you could hear him mumble words as his fingers slid across the strings. I believe that there was mention of 'loving you without a heart' and 'my feelings stay true no matter what' and other romantic notions of the sort.
I must have caught him off-guard when I suddenly appeared net to him, because there was a flash of movement and the sound of something heavy hitting the ground near my feet and suddenly he was sitar less.
"Z-Zexy!" He said, scooping his sitar up off the floor before bounding towards me with a nervous grin. "Did you...Did you hear what I was playing?"
I stopped, and turned to look at him. "I heard bits and pieces of it. It was a serenade of some sort, right?" I answered, in an attempt to be polite and not brush the boy off too quickly.
"Yeah." A nervous laugh thrown in there made me think there was something wrong with the blonde. "Well...what would you say if I said that I was writing it...for you?" He glanced down towards his boots and then slowly raised his eyes to meet mine.
"What would I say? I'd say it's pointless to act as if you care when you really don't. A nobody doesn't hold the ability to love or to be loved in return." Was my brisk answer, before I turned on my heel and continued down the hallway towards the library.
"Then I guess it's a good thing it wasn't for you..."
