Disclaimer – I don't own Yu-Gi-Oh nor am I crazy. Also I don't think Serenity is crazy this is just a random spiel I came up with one day. In fact out of all the Yu-Gi-Oh girls Serenity is my favorite by far.
Serenity woke up screaming. This was the third time this week, "Quiet down!" She cried then realized the room was silent. "All in my head, it's all in my head." She looked around her dimly lit room taking in the television, fish tank, and small alarm clock. The television showed a man with a bible in his hand. The brown haired girl looked around for the remote and switched the program off. God wasn't going to help her. "Help!" she said silently before crawling out of the warm blankets and stumbling to the bathroom.
The bathroom light was harsh on her unprotected eyes. She turned on the sink, cold water blasting from the steel pipes. Two pumps of the apple foaming soap and she shoved her hands under the water, her fingers going numb. Serenity pulled her hands out, wiped them then put two more pumps of the fruit scented substance on her hands. Washed again. Tried to leave the bathroom and stopped. "Two more times," a hoarse whisper said. She looked around for the voice then gave a laugh. It was just her speaking. She washed her hands two more times before leaving the bathroom.
Back in her room she turned on the bedside lamp. Sitting in her rolling desk chair she glanced at the clock. 3:47 it told her in its dim red glow. She could go lie down but she had to wash her hands again in 18 minutes any way. The youngest Wheeler glanced at her cellphone and picked it up. Her fingers found the keys and she quickly dialed her friend.
Four rings and then she heard a voice on the other end of the line. She talked, happily going back and forth with the other person on the line about whatever came up, math homework, that cute guy in English class, the volleyball game in P.E. 17 minutes later she hung up, went back to the bathroom and washed her hands four more times. Clicking the lamp off she crawled into bed and waited for her eyes to adjust.
Glanced at the clock again. 4:27. she needed to get up for school in two hours. Hopefully she could get back to sleep. Hopefully the voices in her room would be quiet. She'd be normal in the morning, she always was. One quick wash of the hands before meals and after restroom breaks. Her mom said if she stopped wasting so much soap she could have it back. Didn't her mother understand the nightly obsession? She hoped she got it back. Her cell line that is. Serenity had the cellphone but her mom cut the line. If she had the line back she could talk to someone. Someone real, maybe a friend from school, maybe Tea, instead of the nightly phone calls with the demon that lived inside her. She rolled over and crawled out of bed again. She had to wash her hands. Four more times.
There you go. As school is winding down maybe I'll actually update some of my fics. Maybe being the operative word here.
