Living Dream

Teyla is joyfully laughing as John carries her across the threshold of their new quarters. He is wearing his dress uniform and Teyla is wearing a custom made wedding gown.

Her people were safe, their son was healthy and strong, and when her people heard of their up coming nuptials they were overjoyed with the news.

Sam and some of the other women showed Teyla pictures of gowns that they had on Earth. It was so overwhelming at first, but she saw some designs that she liked. It was a custom to have the women of the village make the bride a wedding garment and Teyla was not going to deprive them of that after all they went through. She did agree to allow beautiful bolts of fabric to be sent from Earth so she could give them to the dressmakers.

The wedding took place in Atlantis on one of the piers. All of the Athosians were there to witness the joyous event as well as most of Atlantis. Many people were more than happy to watch over their now nearly one-year-old son.

John makes Teyla close her eyes as he brings her to a new section of Atlantis. She can hear the sound of the crystals chime and the door opening. John suddenly sweeps her off her feet. He whispers in her ear, "You can open your eyes now."

She can't believe the sight that is before her. A new beautiful new room that is illuminated my candlelight. John lays her on their new bed and she scans the room to capture the special moment.

Teyla looks at John with loving eyes, "Did you do all this?"

"No. Sam, Jen, Kate and Katie did all this, but we had some of the Athosians come by to help with the layout of the room. This way you can have a place to meditate and stretch. They also blessed it for us," John replies lovingly.

Teyla smiles brightly and she begins to kiss him. Their night was filled with love and passion. There were no burdens; no boundaries and no emanate danger for one night.

Teyla wakes up abruptly. She tries to look around the room, but it's too dark. She begins to panic. "It was just a dream," she thought. She lets a sigh. A hand reaches up to her and she is startled.

A familiar voice rings in her ear, "Teyla? Are you ok?" John rolls over to see her silhouette sitting up in bed. "What's the matter?"

"I thought it was all a dream. I woke up and thought that is was all gone," Teyla answers.

"Nope. You're stuck with me now, Mrs. Sheppard," John says teasingly.

"You mean, Emmagan-Sheppard," Teyla corrected.

"Whatever," he smiles. "Can we talk about this later?" He pulls her down to give her a kiss and to tell her that he loves her. She tells him the same as she nuzzles into him.

The End.
