Based on concrete angel (do not own) The chorus is split into parts along the story but apart from that it's split into verses.
I do not own the song or the fandom or the books or the movie or the audio tapes…None of it okay?!
Warning: possible abuse trigger and/or bullying trigger (be careful okay?)
Going back to Hogwarts after the holidays, Sirius stumbles onto the train dragging his trunk behind him; heading off down the hall to find his friends after the long break. His clothes are ruffled and unkempt as he makes his way in and sits down, fast asleep in seconds. The people in the compartment miss the bruises shown on his wrists as he sleeps, being more occupied with James' newest plot.
McGonagall had some idea the type of people the Blacks were but didn't have the right to worry about such things as politics and kindness within one of the most powerful families in the wizarding world. Sirius seemed to be cocky and arrogant as well as well-liked in the school: no indications about any abuse whatsoever so 'what's there to worry about?' Though if you could see inside him you would find darkness and the wish to just not exist at all.
He can't escape even at school; he endures it with a grin brushing it off as his cousins hurl insults and spells.
Sometimes Frank and Remus used to hear him crying at night, they don't ask so as to keep his dignity intact. Frank and Remus would roll over and turn out their lights once more, sometimes catching each others eyes and nodding before falling asleep again. Sirius is broken. One night he will break completely…the night one of the only people he trusts betrays him and kills his best friend. And before you know it, it's too late for him.
His dreams take him to times of peace amongst his friends when they were all alive and trusting of one another. His dreams were the only places where he was safe from his family and cousins.
Now he is gone. No grave to visit and no family to tell. They never loved him like his friends did anyway and before too long they will all be gone from the world as well. Over the years he will be forgotten as the generations pass just like every other Black name on the walls.
Where he is now? He is with his loved ones; no one can hurt him anymore. After all those years…he is free.
