The ravenette was shaking, his body slick with sweat. His throat was raw from screaming, and he could feel bile rising in his throat. He thrashed in the bed he was in, yelling and crying. The nightmares had been gone for some time, and now they seemed to be coming back.

Monster.

Traitor.

Evil.

Levi screamed for Erwin, but his throat was hoarse and his voice was raspy. The male gripped the sides of the bed, unable to awake without the arms of the man he loved. Erwin didn't love Levi back. Or so he thought. But as the blonde male came running in, wrapping his arms around the male whispering in his ear to calm him down, Levi felt truly comforted for the first time in his life.

'Ssh,' breathed Erwin, his heart pounding at Levi's distress. 'It's okay. Wake up.' Levi choked into the male's shirt, his cheeks stained with tears. The short male opened his stinging eyes to find the blonde male looking down at him with alarm. Levi threw his head into his chest, sobbing. Erwin's heart rate slowed slightly as Levi began to calm down. He had always had feelings for the male, but never told him. Why couldn't he pluck up the courage? After the death of one of Levi's squad members, Petra, Erwin could never bring himself to tell the male. Levi was engaged to Petra at one point, and after her death he was torn apart. He barely spoke, ate, or left his office. Erwin waited patiently for the male to move on, however, he never did. Each night, Erwin would stay awake, waiting for the man whom he loved so dearly to begin his cries, to scream and thrash and be comforted by the Commander. Erwin was okay with it; he was there for the corporal when he was in need. But Erwin did get tired easily, and he would sometimes fall asleep before he was supposed to.

'I'm.. Sorry..' choked Levi, sniffing and gasping.

'Why're you sorry?' Asked the commander, stroking the male's damp hair slightly.

'I don't mean to keep you awake. They've been gone, I don't know why they're coming back I...' Erwin put a hand over the ravenette's mouth, stifling a shaky explanation.

'Ssh...' Erwin coaxed, brushing the loose hairs out of Rivaille's eyes. 'Do you want me to stay with you while you sleep?' Erwin mentally slapped himself. He was bound to find out soon, and he practically blew his cover there and then. Levi breathed slowly. 'Yeah...' He plopped onto the bed and grabbed the pillow, squeezing it slightly to let out his anger at himself. Erwin slid into the bed next to him, and, tensing slightly, wrapped the small male into an embrace. He felt Levi stiffen, but then he relaxed, and so did Erwin. He rested his chin on the male's head, and curled his legs like he normally does.

'Sweet dreams, Corporal Rivaille.' He could almost feel the Captain smirking.

'Good night, Commander Smith.'
