Hey guys, sorry I haven't written for so long, I swear teachers don't have the word rest in their vocabulary and other stuff has been happening. Sooooo read on and I hope you like it….
As you may have guessed don't own any of the characters… oh the possibilities!! ; )
"Sara, you really need to get out more"
If he wasn't honest with himself he said that because he didn't want to see her like the vic that was now lying on a slab in the morgue, being dissected by Doc Robbins – okay so he wasn't on the case but the gossip mill works overtime. However, to tell the truth, the simple truth he loved her. No ifs. No buts. And definitely no maybes.
That's simple.
The problem was that he couldn't bring himself to admit that to ANYONE, let alone the woman he loved. She would probably reject him and then their dynamics would be gone, out the window and any hope of anything more gone.
The look on her face as he said that makes him think maybe it didn't come out right, or if he only looked at her or said the wrong thing. As he is reaches for the phone, he hesitates – a fatal error – wondering if it is the wisest thing to do. Ring her up and apologise if he sounded cold, but then what do they talk about after that… Work seems the obvious option but the one thing he really wants to show her is that he isn't just 'CSI Stokes with the Las Vegas Crime Lab' but also Nick Stokes, who has parents, and siblings and friends and is a person rather than a machine.
A friend rather than a colleague.
However, her demeanour, if he really wanted to admit it, scares him. Yes she is work-a-holic Sara Sidle, but she is also charming, beautiful and most definitely not his.
She could choose anyone. Why would she choose him?
As he asks himself that question the phone rings but being too busy thinking he lets it go to answer phone.
"Hey, it's me. I was wondering if you wanted to go out tonight."
The look on his face says it all; all his Christmases have come at once. He doesn't care of the teams there she just took his advice and that's all that matters.
Simple things are always good.
Thank you for getting this far, hope you liked it. Please please please if you did… REVIEW!! Thanks again!! x x x x x
