Primus' Children
Chapter 1
Six Weeks before the events of "The Last Knight"...
Stripes lounged on the hood of a scrapped car, legs crossed. He watched as the sun rose up over the landscape with a small can of petrol next to him, the sun filling the sky with light. He was at the junkyard that Cade Yeager was using as a hideout now. He was surprised that Autobots and Decepticons were still coming to Earth in droves, even though the humans got more aggressive with their special Transformers Response Force. It didn't make sense to him. Even after Optimus left to try and find the creators again about six months ago...
But he pushed that thought to the back of his mind. He had another nightmare again last night. About Optimus Prime, attacking him and the other Autobots. Following someone named Quintessa. In every nightmare, Stripes himself was so angry at Prime he lost control of himself and in a blind rage ended up killing the Autobot leader. Hell, the nightmares started with Stripes himself in the middle of battle with Optimus.
Questions ran through his processors as he watched the sunrise. Why was he so angry at Optimus in the dream? Why did he have to kill him in the dream? Why was he having these nightmares in the first place?
Starblossom walked up behind him, a drowsy expression on her face plates. Stripes promised Optimus before he left again that he would watch over her. She used to be human, like himself. But unlike Stripes's scenario, Starblossom was given a choice to become one of the Transformers.
"Nightmare again?" She asked, sitting next to him.
"About Optimus turning and me fighting him? Yeah." Stripes answered. "You too?"
Starblossom nodded. She was also having similar nightmares.
Stripes sighed.
"I don't recall in the archives that Optimus shared anything stating that the 'Son of Primus' could share dreams..." He said in a grouchy tone.
Starblossom looked shocked and hurt by those words.
"You still don't fully believe you are Primus's kin, do you?"
It was then that Stripes realized what he just did. He set a servo hand on Starblossom's shoulder.
"...Starblossom, I'm sorry. It' s just… This is still all very new to me. I used to be human, like you were. I just don't know what to think right now. It's only been about Two months since… this." He motioned to himself. "Two months since I revived Optimus at Eternity Pass in our last battle with Megatron, but the whole Autobot thing… It still hasn't sunk in. I didn't mean to offend, I'm just… doubting myself, and I hate it when I doubt myself. Part of me is still wondering if this whole thing is nothing but a fluke."
"Then quit doubting yourself." Starblossom said. "You are here for a reason. Just as all of us are. Don't forget that. Follow what your Spark says."
Stripes sighed as he looked out to the horizon.
"I do. My processors answer instead."
"I can tell. You absolutely reek of Gasoline." Starblossom said. "I could smell it all the way from near Cade's Trailer. Just trust yourself, okay?" She then gently took the can of petrol. "...And please try to cut back. You won't do anyone good if you're drunk and hung over."
Stripes sighed.
Today would be a long day.

Starblossom stood away from the others; she only had one thing on her mind her mate, Optimus Prime. She missed him terribly. Her optics drifted toward Stripes; and she shook her helm. She frowned unexpectedly as her chest plates itched dreadfully.
She wondered, could it be possible? Could she be sparked with Optimus' sparkling? She knew she had to go let Hound check her. Hound was now acting medic since Ratchet had been killed by Lockdown. She had such a feeling that she was now sparked; it was just a strong feeling she had.
"Where are you Optimus?" she whispered as Starblossom's optics still never left Stripes form.
She was worried about where exactly Optimus was in the universe; and she was apprehensive about a lot of things. Frankly her nightmares along with Stripes didn't make her feel all that great; in all honesty, they were scaring her. She would never let anyone harm Optimus, regardless of Stripes being Primus' son she loved Optimus.
She headed off to see Hound; and he glanced at her oddly.
"What's shaking, Starblossom?" Hound asked.
Silence...
"Hound, I need for you to scan me or more to the point my chest plates, could you?" she asked.
"Sure thing," Hound said as he scanned her chest plates and then glanced back at her. "Well, I'll be." Hound remarked shocked.
"I'm sparked, right?" she asked.
"You sure are, this is rare only the Allspark and Primus usually grant life it's like a rarity for one of us to actually become sparked. Congrats." Hound said with a smile as Star smiled sadly.
"Just hope Optimus makes it back alright; he's going to be a daddy." Star replied as she glanced over at Stripes once more as she got a swift odd feeling that sent chills down her circuits when she looked at Stripes.
"Star? You alright?" Hound asked.
She glanced over at Hound then; and shrugged with a smile.
"I'm good really Hound just worried about Optimus is all." Star said.
"Don't worry about the boss, he's not leader for nothing." Hound remarked. "Besides, he's gonna be a daddy like you said." Hound answered as he gave her a big smirk.
Star couldn't help but chuckle at Hound; he always knew how to make any of them laugh.
"Thanks Hound," she said as she saw Bumblebee and wanted to talk to him.
Bumblebee was her go to friend whenever she felt sad; and in a way, he felt like a little brother to her. She never had any siblings growing up mostly because she had been in an orphanage all her life. She had no memories of her childhood; which struck her as odd but she never could grasp as to why.
"Bee, could you come here a sec?" Star asked as she and Bee headed to a remote part of their new hideout. Bee sat down next to Star; and she wasn't sure how to start.
"I keep having those nightmares, Bee; but Stripes is having worse ones. He actually kills Optimus in his nightmares." Star said as Bee slowly lifted her face.
"It's just a dream, my friend." Bee replied in his newly fixed voice.
"I'm scared, Bee; Stripes is reckless he has a strong power inside of him. But..." she started to say.
"But what?" Bee asked.
"I can see and feel darkness inside of him; but I will protect Optimus from him if I have too." Star said firmly.
"I wasn't aware Optimus needed saving from anyone including me." An livid voice said as Star and Bee turned to see Stripes standing there furious with Star.
Starblossom looked at Stripes as he stood there. The expression on his face plates was a mix between hurt and furious.
"Hey, it's okay. We're all adults, right?" Stripes said before either Bumblebee or Starblossom could respond.
He then turned around, transformed, and drove off at a high-rate of speed to the junkyard entrance before anything else could be said.
Bee shook his helm. Starblossom was right about one thing; he was reckless. This was the third time this week he had taken off like this.
He mentally prayed to Primus that he would be safe, and that someday he would learn.
Meanwhile, not too far away…
Jack Rourke was having feelings of Deja-Vu as he drove down the desert road in his black Nissan 240 Z. Life lately had been… Something else. He finally had payed off his mob debt, and was out of that game for good. That was shortly after the death of his dear friend, Carlos Lopez.
Or so he thought. He heard from Nikki that Carlos was alive. The circumstances however, left him skeptical of the story's credibility. According to Nikki, Carlos, now known as "Stripes" had been changed into a Transformer. An alien, and that he was the offspring of their creator, deity…
What did they call it? Primus?
Which explained why Jack was out here in the first place. He was investigating this lead for himself. He and Carlos went way back, after all. Back to childhood, as a matter of fact. They went to the same schools, the same classes… They were hard to keep apart. Much so, that some would say they were "bound by the threads of fate."
Which would soon prove to be true, as a white BMW M3 GTR with racing stripes sped past Jack in the opposite lane of the two-way highway he was on.
That car gave Jack an even deeper rush of nostalgia. It was the same car that Carlos used to drive! He did a double take, then hit the brakes hard! He slid the 240 Z sideways, doing a 180-degree turn on the highway, and bolted after the BMW! Was it true…?
At that time, on Cybertron…
Quintessa hoved above the battered frame of Optimus Prime. She had just finished showing him the past. Her version of the truth... The Staff... The knights... Unicron.
"Optimus Prime..." She spoke. "You destroyed your home. Do you seek redemption?"
There was what seemed an eternal silence as Optimus Prime gazed at the wall with the tablet of the knights. Finally, he spoke.
"My maker… I do."
Quintessa watched as Optimus stared out at Earth; she could see something was amiss with him. She narrowed her optics and floated closer toward him; she knew she couldn't have any problems not now when she was so closer to winning.
"Optimus, come here." She instructed as the Prime turned toward her; but didn't move.
Quintessa narrowed her optics; and gave her order once more as Infernocus moved closer toward Optimus.
"I gave you a direct order Optimus I will not do so again." Quintessa growled as Optimus glanced at her; but obeyed her.
The second he got close enough she slapped him once more her optics flaring with fury.
"Do not ever do that again, is that clear?" she snapped.
"Yes," he replied.
Quintessa moved her hand over Optimus' face; and he cringed at first half expecting her to slap him once more.
"I will not punish you for no reason, Optimus, do not be afraid." Quintessa replied as Optimus relaxed.
Quintessa once more reached her hand toward his face; and she placed her hand on his forehead and she saw for herself her creation was in love. But not just any Cybertronian femme but one who had been human at one time; she smiled as she realized her luck.
"You're in love, aren't you, Optimus?" she asked him softly.
"Yes, my maker; please do not take her from me." Optimus begged.
Quintessa smiled then.
"I would not do that to you, Optimus; would you like for her to with us?" Quintessa asked.
Optimus looked up at his maker then.
"Yes, would you allow it?" he asked.
Silence...
"But of course, I will." Quintessa answered. "I am not cruel Optimus; I can see and feel for myself that you love her deeply." Quintessa replied. "She must be very special to capture my creation's spark." Quintessa mused.
Optimus looked up at his maker then.
"She was human once. S-She treated me as an equal. We started out as friends; but then it grew into something very special. I never felt anything like it before; she made me feel wanted and needed. She also made me feel at home on Earth; when I felt so lost and... Alone." Optimus replied.
Quintessa had to admit she saw everything through Optimus' processors and optics; and this femme even as a human truly did love her creation. It amazed her. She held a hatred for the human race; but this girl treated her creation like an equal.
"I am anxious to meet her, Optimus; I believe I will like her very much." Quintessa said. "Would you like to go get her; and bring her back here with you?" Quintessa asked.
"Yes, my maker; I would." Optimus said his voice becoming excited at the mention of that; which Quintessa couldn't help but smile at.
"Very well, you may go back to Earth and bring her back; and then I will meet her and I will allow you some time with her. So then after, we can prepare for our mission of bringing your home back to its former glory." Quintessa replied.
"Thank you, my maker." He replied as he got ready to go back to Earth and bring Starblossom back.
Back on Earth...
Starblossom nearly came undone when Hound confirmed what she already knew; she was sparked with Optimus Prime's sparkling and she was giddy as can be by that news. If only Optimus Prime was safely back home with her now; it would be perfect.
