Egyptian Moon Spirit

This is the tale about a young Egyptian peasant who wished to marry a pharaoh...

There once was a beautiful young peasant girl named Teanna. Every day she would gaze up at the palace and sigh, she wished to marry the pharaoh, Atem. Every time he came to her town she always tried to get a glimpse of him.

One night she finally couldn't take anymore, she ran out into the desert, and fell to her knees.

'Please someone, anyone hear my plea' she screamed out desperately into the night, burying her face into her hands she started to cry.

Suddenly the air grew cold and a shadow washed over her, looking up she saw a man silhouetted by the full moon, he had hair as white as the moon itself and blood red eyes that seemed to glow in the surrounding darkness, he was Bakura the selfish moon spirit.

He started cackling the sound sending shivers down Teanna's spine.

'Do my ears deceive me' he said grinning down at her 'you actually wish to marry that bastard of a pharaoh'

Teanna's eyes lit up 'oh yes, please I'll do anything' she begged.

His eyes narrowed then he smirked 'anything you say, alright then I'll make you a deal, you will have your dark skinned pharaoh but you will have to give me something in return'

'Anything' she cried.

Bakura leaned in 'I want your first born son' he breathed seductively into her ear.

For a split second she was horrified but quickly accepted his offer anyway.

She ran home his words still ringing in her ears 'he will come into town tomorrow and as soon as he sees you he will fall instantly in love with you'

And true to his word the next day pharaoh Atem visited the small town and as soon as his eyes fell upon her he was immediately enchanted. He took her by the hand and whisked her back to the palace.

It wasn't long before they married and Teanna quickly forgot all about her deal with the white hair demon.

Until a year later that is...

Atem had burst into shared chambers, his eyes hooded and glazed over; Teanna thought he was drunk until she got a good look at his face...

Atem grabbed her wrist and pulled her over to the bed and pushed her down, climbing on top of her she gasped, instead of seeing violet his eyes were blood red, the monster had come to collect his payment...

A few weeks later it was confirmed, Teanna was pregnant, Atem was ecstatic and was telling everyone that he now had heir.

But Teanna knew better.

All to soon the time came for Teanna to go into labour and she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, but the pharaoh looked at the child in shock, the boy looked nothing like him, he was pale with matching white hair and his eyes were a golden brown.

Atem was furious, as soon as he ordered everyone from the room he rounded on Teanna.

'Who is the father?!' he screamed the betrayal evident in his voice.

Teanna faltered tears collecting in her eyes.

Atem turned and gave into his rage unsheathing his dagger he attacked, he stabbed her death.

He then picked up the small albino and rode out into the desert and straight to the mountains, leaving the boy on a ledge he deftly rode away.

Not long after Atem left, Bakura appeared.

Looking down at the child he smirked, he was quite pleased with the way his little plan had turned out, picking the babe up he too disappeared into the night.
