Prologue:
In the Beginning
I groggily role out of bed and walk downstairs.
The mail is sitting at the door. I scoop it up and look through it.
Junk, bill, bill, junk, letter, Wait what was that?
Something addressed to me?
I went back and looked at it.
There was a weird name on it of a school that I didn't know.
I walked into the kitchen and put it on the table.
"Mail." I muttered.
I slumped down into the nearest seat.
I grabbed the mail opener and sliced my letter open.
I slipped the piece of paper out and read over it and reread it and reread it.
I was so confused. "Mom what is this?" I hand her the letter I received and she smiled sweetly.
She responded, "Darling you know how I told you that you were adopted?
Well your real parents were close friends of ours.
Unfortunately they were so busy with their work that they had to give you up to us.
Your parents are something called witches or wizards.
Us none magical beings are called Muggles.
We were entrusted with your safety.
This school is called Hogwarts which is for witches and wizards of your ageā¦."
My mom explained to me everything that I needed to know.
I still was a little skeptical about why she told me but I believed her.
She told me to get dressed so we could go out and buy me my items that were needed for my new school.
I ran upstairs and put on my blue jean shorts and a white tank top.
I put on my Tom's and threw my hair up into a bun.
I rushed downstairs ready to go.
We walked out to the car and drove out to London.
Another car that came out of our neighborhood was going on the same direction as us.
We got out and walked into what looked like a bar.
I gave my mom a quizzical look.
She smiled and kept walking.
She walked over to a very large man.
She put her hand on his shoulder and whispered something into his ear.
He turned around and gave me a jolly laugh.
He looked older in his years.
"Why hello there youngster!
I'm Hagrid. I'm a professor at Hogwarts.
Since its yer first year I won't be teaching ya!
Here let me get you through to Diagon Alley."
When he scooted his chair out he made a large scooting sound.
I winced but followed him to a room that was made of bricks.
He used a pink umbrella that I almost laughed at.
He tapped it a few times and they started to move.
My eyes went wide.
He turned to me and said, "Welcome to Dragon Alley!"
I was starting to love this. I smiled my shy smile and took my mom's hand.
