It was a bright, sunny day in the vibrant town of Radiator Springs. Everyone was at Flo's V8 Cafe, all except Cruz. 2 years had passed since she won the Florida 500 and she was at the top of her league. Cruz was winning almost every race there was!
"Where's Cruz? She hasn't come yet." noted Lightning McQueen, who was still sporting his blue Fabulous Lightning McQueen paint job. Suddenly, a threatening sound of a loud engine starting roared through the town. The former Rust-eze racer knew exactly who it was - it was Cruz! The next-gen Dinoco racer parked next to Fillmore, who preferred to drink his own organic fuel over Flo's drinks.
"Sorry if I worried you, Mr. McQueen. I had to tidy my room - it was a mess!" Cruz told Lightning.
"It's okay, Cruz. At least you're safe." #95 replied. Mater joined in on the conversation, hoping to tell another tall tale.
"Hey Cruz! You should've seen what happened yesterday. I was-" Mater was interrupted by the TV that was sitting in front of the cafe, which Lizzie, Red, Sheriff and Fillmore were watching.
"Tonight on the Mel Dorado show!" the show's announcer, Mel Dorado, shouted. What the Radiator Springs inhabitants were going to hear next would change their lives forever.
