Scavengers hunt: Write a fic featuring polyjuice potion

365 Prompts Challenge: First Line – This wasn't supposed to happen

This wasn't supposed to happen. But if your name was Seamus Finnigan and you tried to brew polyjuice potion (or any potion at all) nothing you did was supposed to happen. Somehow Potions, Transfiguration and Charms were the three subjects he happened to blow up most of the things. Especially in Potions. The polyjuice potion turned dark blue which it should not do. Dean could not hold back the chuckle as the cauldron exploded – again. Everyone else continued to work since this was not new for them. Seamus huffed, wiped away the soot and sat down.

"You know what, you can do it! I'm done!"

The irish boy grumbled and tried to kill the cauldron by looking at it. But nothing happened. His best friend just sighed and ruffled through the sandy hair of his best friend before he tried to save the potion. But it was pointless. Everything was messed up. The only way out would be sharing his potion and since they were best friends he would do it. He took Seamus' vial, poured some of his own potion in it and placed the vial back in the stand. The shorter boy looked at his best friend, smirked and hugged him immediately.

"You saved my life! And my grades! Thanks!"

Dean wrapped his arms around his best friend to rest his chin on the others head. It felt good to hug Seamus. They fit together perfectly fine. His fellow Gryffindor pouted but did not say anything. He and his grades were saved, Dean hugged him and that was everything which mattered for the moment.

"Next Hogsmeade weekend I will buy you a butterbeer! Or a chocolate frog! Or...whatever you want! Deal?"

Dean chuckled and let go of Seamus so he could look into his eyes. He could destroy their friendship but he had to be brave at least one time.

"I helped you because we're friends. Not because I want something in return. But if you really want to give me something...I think a kiss would be alright as a payment."

Seamus began to blush. Nobody ever asked him to kiss him! And Dean was his best friend! But...they were friends for such a long time...so it would be alright, right? He looked around and nobody paid attention. Snape had left the room a few minutes ago so he could risk it. Without wasting time he crushed their lips together. It was a short and rough kiss, more like lips against lips but it was intense. They looked in each others eyes and for a few seconds nothing happened. They just stared at each other until both began to blush and laugh. This time everyone looked at them but they did not care.
