It was a sunny Sunday morning in Harper City. Everybody was going to church. Especially Mike Hart who was a UU (Unitarian Universalist). He wakes up at 9:45 AM to the sound of his galling alarm clock.
Mike then says "I had a little too much fun playing Audiosurf, and this was my punishment". He then gets out of bed and went to his closet. He chooses a green striped button down shirt along with some jeans. After taking his shower and getting dressed Mike heads into a kitchen where his father was making a breakfast burrito.
Mike's father was a sarcastic bastard. He would he would make a racial remarks about different types of people, mostly of illegal immigrants from Mexico and of African Americans. He gets most of his idiotic ideas from Fox news. His father then speaks "We are going to the Hunger Walk after church, but first we need to go Home Depot because we are running low on green paint." Mike's father can be really sarcastic at times where Mike doesn't want to be.
His family was repainting the master bedroom because Mike's mother loathes the yellow paint job in her room. Mike walks into the master bedroom to see mom deep asleep. She is wearing purple pajamas with Japanese design on them his father then says "Mom was up all night in pain she couldn't get any rest last night" Mike's mother has chronic pain on her back which keeps her up at night."
"I feel bad for mom. There is nothing that I can do for her but hope for the best." Mike thought. After eating breakfast and doing his final morning hygiene, Mike and his father head out the door and get into the car.
During the drive Mike asks "What is going to be the subject of the service?"
His father replies "Today they are going to talk about world hunger and the youth group is going to do the service today"
"I wonder if that punk youth group leader Tony is going be there." Mike says.
"I don't know He might be there." His father replies. After the conversation about the service subject Mike decides to look out the window for the rest of the drive. Along the drive he sees the gang battered part of town, which has abandoned buildings and people hanging out by beat down gas stations. Following shortly is the drive along I-79 which takes them through the other side of town. After getting off the freeway they make a left turn onto Jacobs Lake St. The houses, unlike the ones down the bad part town were pretty nice. Ten miles later they arrive at the church. Mike and his father get the car it and start walking towards to chapel.
