Disclaimer: Hey, I obviously don't own Avatar (the Last Airbender or Legend of Korra). If I did, Zutara and Taang would have happened in place of Kataang. Also, Korra would have never been with Mako, but with Tahno. Mako really should have just been with his eyebrows. So, yeah, here goes nothing.

"Tenny! Come here, we need a third player," Kya called from her bedroom. Tenzin's eyes brightened, his big sister never wanted to play with him.

He smiled widely as he slid back Kya's rice paper door, "What are you playing?" Kya smirked, sitting on her bed with her friend Lin Bei Fong, a game board open.

Lin giggled; she was only a bit older than Tenzin, about nine, "We're playing Life."

Tenzin furrowed his chocolate-brown eyebrows, "Isn't that the point of everyday we're alive?"

"Sure, Silly. But that's not what Lin meant. We are playing the game of Life," Kya said with a laugh. Tenzin pouted, he did not like it when Kya called him Silly: she sounded like his mom when she did that. "Now get up here. I saved you the yellow car."

Tenzin smiled, "Thanks, Kya. Why aren't you playing with Bumi, though?"

Lin looked surprised, "You don't want to play?"

"I- I want to. Just, you usually play with Bumi, not me," Tenzin said with a small smile.

Lin blew her hair out of her face and Kya rolled her eyes, "Bumi is off with Honora." Tenzin and Lin stuck their tongues out of their mouths and made grossed-out noises. Kya laughed, "You two will understand when you're older. Now, come on, youngest spins first." Tenzin smiled and pushed his little blue person into the yellow car.

When the game was nearly half over with Kya winning in both money and area covered, Bumi's shaggy head flew through Kya's door, "Urgh! Bumi! This is the fifth door we've had to replace this year! And it's only June! I ought to waterbend you across Republic City!"

"Sorry, Kya, I just wanted to let Lin know, her mom is leaving and has threatened to leave her here," Bumi said. Lin crossed her arms and spun the wheel."

"You can tell Mom that I am not leaving until Tenzin, Kya, and I finish our game, " she said with a pout. Bumi looked uncomfortable; he probably was afraid Toph would kill him if he told her that. "Fine," Lin said, throwing her arms up in an exasperated gesture, "I'll go tell her myself if your that much of a wuss."

As Lin stormed out of Kya's room, breaking the rest of Kya's rce paper, Kya turned back to Bumi, "So, where's Honora?" Bumi blushed and Kya made kissing noises.

"Ah! Kya! Don't do that in front of Tenzin. And she just left with her dad," Bumi said.

Tenzin tapped his sister's shoulder, "Life's like this, isn't it? It's not like the game."

Kya smiled at her baby brother, "Teenage life is. When you get older I have a feeling that life gets more difficult, more like the game." Bumi smiled and nodded at his older sister.

A calm but loud voice called from the kitchen, "Kya, Bumi, Tenzin! Dinner's ready. Oh, and Lin's staying over!"

"Coming," Kya called as she pushed Bumi through the now completely ripped rice paper door, "Thanks Mom. Oh, and Bumi broke my door again."

"BUMI!" Katara yelled in exasperation.

A/N: Thanks for the view. I'm looking forward to what you think about this. BTW in this story, Tenzin is eight, making Kya about fourteen or fifteen and Bumi around eleven or twelve. Honora is Zuko's daughter if you didn't quite catch that. Thanks again ya'll!
