"I don't know Sam, I don't think camera likes me." Jules repeated even when he had already pulled her inside the crammed photo booth. He conveniently took the whole chair before tugging her to fall sideways on his lap.
"Good thing you're not 5'8'', Jules, or it would be quite uncomfortable in here." Sam good-naturedly said.
One eyebrow rose. "Is that a compliment or should I be offended?"
"I'm being appreciative, Sweetheart." Sam answered absently while working on the desired setting. "Borders or no?"
"I'm not going to have our faces inside a big pink heart." Jules eyed the monitor hesitantly. Sam looked energized; like a little kid one day before Christmas. While it wasn't the first time she used one of the photo booths at the mall, it was the first time she was there with a boyfriend. "Plain."
Sam chuckled, his hand rubbing the small of her back up and down. "Relax, Jules. It's just a picture."
"You'd be so dead if somehow you sneaked them into HQ." Jules warned, not wanting to start imagining how it'd be if one of their teammates saw the pictures. It's hard evidence. Nothing she said could deny the irrefutable.
He shook his head at her paranoia, but he had long accepted it since he first kissed her outside the Royal York. "I'll have them locked in the safety box at home. Happy?"
Her answer was an incoherent mumble.
"Smile, Jules!" Sam poked his finger in her ticklish side and a spontaneous giggle escaped her lips. The first shot was a simple grinning Sam and Jules.
"At least it's better than my year book picture." Jules commented dryly, slightly amused.
"Come on, make funny faces. It's mandatory to have one of those." Sam instructed, puffing his cheeks and narrowing his eyes at the same time. He looked so silly that her laughter broke free. Another shot down.
Feeling her mood spiking, Jules awkwardly stuck her tongue out and scrunched up her pert nose, making a peace sign with her free hand. Sam happily pretended to pull on one of her braids as he extended his thumb and forefinger, placing the 'gun' on her temple.
"That's crazy!" Jules laughed and tightened her hold around his neck.
"Last one," Sam signaled before grabbing her face and pulling her to him, smoothly capturing her lips with his. Her eyes instantly fluttered close yet she still could see the flash from behind closed lids. He let the kiss linger for a few more seconds before pulling back. "Now we're done."
"Mandatory?" Jules pressed her lips together. "You're an expert, huh? I don't even want to ask how many girls you've brought here."
"Jealous?"
Jules wanted to slap the smug smile off his face. "You wish."
"We didn't exactly have one of this stuff in the desert, you know?" Sam pointed out.
Impossibly, Jules released a breath that she wasn't aware she's holding. Her doe brown eyes softened. "If you wanted a kiss, all you had to do was ask, and I swear to God if those pictures end up circulating around the net or something…"
Now it was his turn to roll his eyes. "Geez, Jules, it's not like we're making porn videos or something."
"You know what I mean."
"I do, though now that you've mentioned that…," He shot her a suggestive leer, his hand slipping underneath her shirt and caressing the skin of her back. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what's running through his mind.
Scowling, Jules pushed herself up off his lap. One track mind. "In your dream, Sam."
:) 5 more sleeps!
