It wasn't that she dressed badly, per say. No, definitely not. Takano Masami was a very attractive woman, Kisa Shouko had to admit; what with her, um, ample bosoms, and dark shoulder-length hair. It was just that Takano-san rarely bothered to even try and look good. Sure, there was that all natural beauty oozing out and editors aren't required to dress in suits anyways (contrary to what Hatori may think – her always dressing in a pencil skirt and blazer, long hair tied up in a neat bun). Not that Shouko dressed exuberantly herself – often opting with a simple t-shirt and skirts (and maybe some colourful wraps because those things are just so comfy) but various button-ups and pants can only go so far, and Shouko felt like she needed to change that.
"Ne, Takano-san, we have the week off next week, right? What do you say we hit off to 109 together?" she said over a drink one day.
"If you want a company vacation, wouldn't it be better to go to an onsen or something?" Takano-san replied evenly, taking a sip of her beer.
"No, no! We're going shopping! No offense or anything, Takano-san, but you really need a wardrobe upgrade."
"What's wrong with the things I wear now? It's not like we have to meet clients all day; only authors."
'Ah, true. And they usually look worse than us,' Shouko thought, recalling how haggard and scruffy her authors usually looked. Oversized shirts and slacks, comfortable and practical, sure, but did they really have to go and deliver manuscripts to the office dressed that way?
"It's nothing like that at all. I just think you'd be able to look more attractive than you are now, Takano-san. You'd be able to pick up men twice as easy!"
At that comment, Takano-san's eyes drifted over to the person sitting beside Shouko. Person in question was blushing quite violently and –oh. Oh.
"Ricchan can come along too, of course!"
"Eh? I'm sorry, what?" she sputtered in response.
The spark between the editor-in-chief and their newbie was pretty hard to miss. It was clear that Takano-san was interested in her. Ritsu was a bit more stubborn, showing a prickly front whenever Takano-san came into topic. It didn't stop the men from the Amethyst department and their authors on collaborating on a doujinshi about them to sell on Comiket, though. Shouko couldn't blame them. Their relationship was cute, in a way.
"What do you think of Takano-san wearing a sundress, Ricchan?"
A cough from the person in question and a raised eyebrow from Takano-san was earned.
"I-I thought we were getting work clothes," Ritsu murmured.
"Oh right! In that case, I think vests would just be lovely! It'd accentuate more of her breasts."
By now, Ritsu looked like he wanted to die, and Takano-san looked like she was wholly convinced on going on the outing. Shouko noted this reaction well in her head; it's easier to persuade Takano-san to do something if it involves seducing Ritsu somehow. Hm. Maybe she should try that to worm out of getting chewed out when her authors are being total asshats.
"We should get something for you too, Onodera. I think you would look absolutely adorable in sundresses," Takano-san piqued.
Oh their banters are just too cute.
