Man, I am SO glad I waited to catch up on NCIS. Otherwise, I would have been in hysterics all week!
So, here is how I imagine Gibbs finds out. I don't know if they'll show it in Revenge, but I thought I'd publish it anyway.
Disclaimer: Do I have to say it? If I owned it, would the last episode have ended like that?
Gibbs was in the bullpen when his phone rang.
"Gibbs."
"Agent Gibbs? This is Nurse Jackson at Bethesda Hospital." Gibbs froze, all muscles in his body tensing up. "I was calling to inform you that Agents DiNozzo and David are in surgery right now. They were in a car crash about ten minutes ago."
"How are they?"
Gibbs saw McGee's head fly up in his direction, taking in his boss's reaction.
"As of right now, they're both critical. Is there any family we can get ahold of?"
"No. I'll be down there shortly." He hung up.
"Boss?" McGee asked warily. He knew something bad had happened. Only one thing could make Gibbs react like that. McGee's breath caught, and he had to choke the next words out. "Are Tony and Ziva okay?"
Gibbs was already moving. "Track DiNozzo's car, get as much information as you can about the other car. I want everything you've got ten minutes ago." He ignored McGee's question, pressing the elevator button. The doors opened, and Gibbs stepped in. "Call me!"
McGee immediately started searching traffic cams starting at the airport, looking for Tony's car. While he was doing that, he ran a trace on Gibbs's phone. He read the name on the screen, and he forgot how to breathe.
Gibbs paced in front of the doors leading to surgery. He couldn't stand the thought of his agents lying in there, possibly dying, so instead he imagined all the ways he could kill Bodnar.
His phone rang, piercing the silence and breaking him out of his thoughts. He picked his phone out of his jacket pocket and answered it.
"Gibbs."
"Boss," McGee's voice replied, "I traced the car's plates. The plates were dummies. I couldn't catch the driver's face. I lost the car, too."
"I don't want to hear that, McGee! Find the driver! Find Bodner!" Gibbs spat into the phone. His emotions were wreaking havoc on his heart, though his strongest desire now was for revenge.
"Yes, Boss," McGee responded. "How are they?" he asked after a few seconds.
"I don't know, McGee. You saw the footage; you tell me." Gibbs ended the call and stared at the double doors.
Make sure Ziva and Tony are all right, he told himself. Then focus on hunting the bastard who did this down.
In the end, Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs would show everyone that to mess with his family was to mess with him.
He would have his revenge.
