As Legolas's final arrow was shot.

"LEGOLAS!" cried Aragorn,"With that arrow we have won."

Legolas only grinned and hugged his friend and then walked over to Gimli.

"How many did you get?" Legolas asked Gimli.

"Forty-Seven!"

"I expected more of you master Dwarf",said Legolas, wiping his bloody forehead.

"Why,how many did you end up with?", asked Gimli harshly.

"Seventy-Nine with swords alone",Legolas replied,breaking into a smile.

"Come Aragorn, let us run to mount doom and not let the many deaths of this journey be in vain",said Legolas grimly.

"What? Oh yes let us make haste." replied Aragorn while staring at the ring.

But before Legolas could start scaling the mountainside, Elrond whispered in his ear.

"Becareful of the mortal I can already tell that the ring is taking him over." said in a deadly whisper.

"Yes i can see it in his eye's, it is corrupting him even as we speak." replied Legolas in the same deadly whisper although it would not have mattered if they screamed it as the soldiers were celebrating so loudly.

"Then you kow what must be done if it is as we suspect."

Legolas merely nodded.

"Aragorn. Aragorn! ARAGORN!" yelled Legolas trying to wake him(Aragorn)to his senses

"What?yes, oh right Legolas,I have decided to keep the ring. it could aid us if the Dark Lord were ever to return." replied Aragorn simply

"If you throw the ring in there is no way for him to return!" cried Legolas exaspertatedly

"Legolas, i fought this battle also although it is true that you did end up slaying Sauron I led this army!" Aragorn cried angrily and started to walk away

"Aragorn i would suggest throwing it in now!"

aragorn turned simply and said, "No".

"If this is what you truly wish than fine", Legolas whispered.

Legolas drew an arrow took aim and let his arrow fly,it hit aragorn in the back of the head and went through his head entirely, and as he fell to the fiery depths of Mount Doom, so did the tears of Legolas. ===================================
