Ten Minutes

Hello! Happy New Year!

So I watched Times Square New Year's Eve and I pictured Naitlyn being there!

This is my first oneshot so please go easy on me! Of course, it's Naitlyn.

Disclaimer: I do not own Camp Rock or Times Square New Year's Eve.

I sighed. I'm gonna do it, I thought to myself. Tonight. I stared at it sitting on the palm of my hand. I suddenly pushed it into my blazer pocket as I heard footsteps coming my way.

"Nate?" Caitlyn asked after knocking on the door. "You okay?" "Yeah. Just a second." I replied. "Okay." Although it was New Year's Eve, it was only Caitlyn and me in the apartment celebrating since everyone else was out of town. "Hey." I said and sat next to her on the couch where my arm rested on her shoulder as we watched the New Year's Eve Celebration in Times Square. "Hi." she smiled at me and then gave me a soft kiss. I glanced at the clock next to the guitars.

Only ten minutes left til 2011.

"Cait, take my hand." I said as I stood up. She took my invitation and giggled as I dragged her out the apartment and up the stairs.
"Where are we going, Nate?" she asked.
"Just trust me." I opened the door and she gasped while taking off her blindfold. We were standing right there, on one of the rooftops surrounding Times Square.

The perfect place to propose.

I checked my watch. Two minutes. Everyone down there was getting super excited. I felt the ring in my pocket, just to make sure it hadn't jumped out.

Everything was in place.

One minute.

I grabbed her hand.

Knelt down. She put her hand over her mouth.

"Caitlyn, the moment I met you, I knew right there. It was you. You are going to be the person who are going to make an impact in my life. You, Caitlyn Gellar."

Tears streamed down her face.

"You are the person I want to see next to me each and every morning. You are the person I want to start my own family with. You are the person I want to embark this journey. You, Caitlyn Gellar. Just you." I stared at her.

"Ten! Nine! Eight!" the crowd started.

"Will you marry me?" I asked as I opened the little velvet.

"Yes!" she screamed, teary eyed.

"Three! Two! One! Happy New Year!" the crowd cheered.

We kissed.

The perfect start to a new year.

The cheering died down twelve minutes later.

I grabbed the mic hidden in the light pole.

"Everybody! Listen up!" I yelled from the roof. Everyone started screaming once they caught sight of me.

"My girlfriend, Caitlyn Gellar, has just said yes to my proposal!" I threw my hands in the air as everyone cheered once again.

"And so, on behalf of the Gray household and my fiancée and I, we would like to wish the world and the Eastern Coast a wonderful and prosperous New Year!" everyone applauded as I kissed Caitlyn's forehead.

"So now, we sing." the music started and Caitlyn and I both sang into the mic.

"Start spreading the news
I'm leaving today
I want to be a part of it
New York, New York! Sing along!"

While the song continued, I kissed Caitlyn once again just as snow started falling.

Snow.

"New York! New York!"

And you.

Happy New Year everyone.

"Happy Birthday, babe." she wrapped her arms around my neck and we stared into each other's eyes, smiling.

"Happy Birthday, you."

"And that's why your mommy and I say happy birthday to each other on New Year's." I said to my kids, Kai and Troiian.

I kissed their foreheads.

"Happy Birthday, daddy."

Thanks for sticking til the end and please do review!
