With their 'part-time hero' work finished, Penn, Sashi, and Boone try to find their own missions on doing what's right to keep being heroes. However, they also have to find new part-time jobs to make some extra money. What they didn't know was that someone was specifically looking to hire them. He comes out from a nearby by alley.
Mystery Man: Hello there, I'm looking for you: Penn Zero, Boone W., Sashi Kobyashi.
Sashi (surprised): You know us?
Mystery Man: Only from what I hear and have seen a few times; part-time heroes saving multiple dimensions each day. That's what I'm looking for in young people.
Boone: Really? What kind of job could that be? I mean we've restored balance to the multiverse and there's no need for part-time heroes or villains now.
Mystery Man (handing an address to each of them, along with a replica pair of glasses that resemble Sashi's specs): Meet me at this address after school. And Sashi, brings your specs and replace them with these replicas, you'll need them.
And so, after school, Penn, Sashi (who'd gotten her real specs), and Boone followed the address to what looked like an old abandoned museum.
Penn: Gosh, this reminds me a lot of when I first came to the theater for the part-time hero job.
Sashi: Me too. Now come on, let's see what this guy wants us for.
Boone: Maybe he bought this place and wants our help to try and reopen it. Just a guess.
When they got inside, they stared in awe at what looked like round version of the portal from the theater that Phyllis always zapped them through. Then, the mystery man came out.
Mystery Man: You made it, good. Seems familiar to you right?
Penn: You must have the exact idea. Does this mean we're back in the 'part-time hero' business?
Mystery Man: Not quite. My name is Henry Rodrickson, and this portal you see isn't the same as what you remember. It's a time machine.
Sashi: Time machine?
Henry: That's right. With this portal, I can zap myself, or anyone of my choosing into the past or future.
Boone: So appropriate; a time machine in a history museum.
Henry: I built it to travel through time so I could understand history well enough to reopen this museum with newer exhibits. But now I have a better purpose for it, that's why I'm hiring you 3.
Penn: For what?
Henry: Well you see, keeping history unchanged is no easy task. So you're going to be 'part-time heroes' again, but for this world. Everyday, you'll be zapping into either the future or past to make sure neither is changed either because the people of history aren't doing their part (like the heroes you've often replaced), or by interference from another time-traveler.
Sashi: Wow, traveling through time to either make the future brighter or keep the present unchanged, that would be cool, and could give me some more butt to kick and skulls to crush.
Penn: Yeah, Sash, and Phyllis did say for us to keep being heroes, and this is a good way to do that.
Boone: Then it's agreed. Sign us up Henry, the space-time continuum just got 3 new heroes to keep her going straight.
Henry: Fantastic, just great. I knew I could count on all of you.
And so, Penn, Sashi, and Boone Got new part-time jobs as heroes to defend the future and past of the world from alteration and they loved it as much as they did their original hero jobs.
