Chapter 1
"Kenshin, ohhhh Kenshin!" "Where could he be?" wondered Kaoru. "I know he's around here somewhere." "Yahiko, have you seems Kenshin?" "Ya, he left a little while ago to with Sano to go to the market." replied Yahiko. "He should have told me where he was going instead of worrying me!!!" "Oh well" sighs Kaoru.

"I hope they aren't worrying about where I am, especially Kaoru." wonders Kenshin as they walk back to the house. "I doubt it." replies Sano. "So what did you buy for dinner?" asks Sano. "Rice, fish, and some vegetables." replies Kenshin. "Sounds good, as long as Kaoru doesn't cook it." remarks Sano. "I like Miss Kaoru's cooking." beams Kenshin. "Too bad you won't be around to taste it!" remarks a dark figure in the shadows. "Who are you and what do you want!" yells Sano. "Who I am is not your concern and as for what I want, I want the Batosi to come with me, or else!" replies the dark figure. "Well you have to get through me first!" remarks Sano. With that Sano attacks the figure.

"Sano, Sano wake up!" says a very concerned Kaoru. "Huh, Where am I?" Sano asks.
"Some people found you unconscious on the road." says Yahiko. "Tell us where Kenshin is and what happened!" Kaoru demanded. "We were walking back from the market, when this dark figure appeared and demanded Kenshin to come with him." " I attacked the figure and everything went dark. "That's all I remember." Sano sighs. "Kenshin, gone?" It can't be" Kaoru weeps. "Don't worry Kaoru, we'll find him" comforts Yahiko.

"Let me go" cries Kenshin. "Why have you brought me here?" "What do you want with me!?" "We need your skills to help us over through the Japanese Government." replies the dark figure. "No, I won't, I assure you that!" remarks Kenshin. "Oh, but I don't think you have a choice in the matter I believe." "You see if you don't, I will order my men to capture and kill your friends." "Now you don't want that to happen, now do you?" snickers the figure. "Fine, I will help you, just leave my friends out of this." says Kenshin. " Fine, since we are now partners, you may call me Mioji." says the figure. "Now it's time to get to work."
