"Shaun?"
"Yeah?"
"You see what I'm saying?"
You sighed as you sat on the other end of the table with Shaun and Liz as they talked; you knew that the bad news was coming soon.
"Yep, totally."
You felt your arm moving up as you placed your hand on your face in a face palm; Shaun was a bit of an idiot, none the less. And to Liz; you were the 'other woman', and you hated the way that sounded in your mind.
"I know he's your best friend, but you do live with him."
"I know."
"It's not that I don't like Ed."
Liz looks over at Ed who is playing an arcade game while you decided to get up and move to the corner of the pub. Sighing, you turned around and faced away from the group you sat with.
"Ed, it's not that I don't like you."
"It's all right."
"It would just be nice if we could..."
You watched Ed as he played the game. "Fuck!" He shouted at the machine, which made you grin to keep from laughing.
"...spend a bit more time together..."
"Bollocks!"
It was amusing as you watched Ed get pissed at the game, you put a hand over your mouth to keep from laughing at him. The other reason being that you didn't want Liz to glare at you.
"[F. Name], you Ok?" Diane asked you as you saw her looking at you.
"I'm quite alright." You spoke softly as you moved your hand away from your mouth.
"...just the two of us." Liz continued.
"Cock it!" Ed shouted at the game once more, causing you to kick your shin to keep yourself from laughing out loud. You soon found yourself back in the chair next to Shaun.
"It's just with Ed here, it's no wonder I always bring my flat-mates out and then that only exacerbates things."
"What do you mean?" Shaun asked as he glanced at you and back to Liz.
"Well you guys hardly get on, do you?"
"No, what does "exacerbate" mean?"
You wanted to just pour your drink on the nearest sap next to you and leave, but it was Shaun who talked you in to going here with him.
"It means um, to make things worse."
"Right. Well I mean, it's not that I don't like David and Di."
"Then what's with [F. Name]? Is she your new girlfriend?" Liz questioned him, causing you to tap your fingers on the table rather loudly.
"W-well, she's a friend. Nothing more." Shaun shot back rather feebly, which was not even a shocker since Liz was Shaun's ex-girlfriend.
Shaun looks over at David and Di at the table next to them; they seemed to be staring down Shaun along with Liz.
"Guys, it's not that I don't like you."
"It's all right" David and Diane said together.
"And it's not that I don't want to spend time with you 'cause I do. It's just... Ed doesn't have too many friends."
[F. Name] saw Ed coming towards them and watched him as you leaned against Shaun, Liz could tell in your eyes that the two of you were going out anyway.
"Can I get... any of you cunts... a drink?"
You smirked as Ed spoke, waiving your hand up towards him. Ed gave you a friendly smile back as he walked towards the bar. The look on Liz's face was telling you that if there wasn't anyone in the pub, she'd sucker punch you right in the face.
Giving Shaun's arm a small squeeze, you stood up and made your way towards the woman's restroom.
