It was suppose to be a great day. A day of celebration between two old friends.
Robert came to Winterfell not only to see Ned after a long time, but to ask him to be his hand of the king. All after Jon Arryn death.
However, it became a tragedy when the young and lively Bran fell from a tower and died. The worst day to the Starks since the days of the Mad King.
The world became a sad place.
The family was in absolutely pain.
The people of the North cried along their lords. Robert understood that he had to change his plan.
At the end, Ned wasn't offered hand of the King, so he stayed in Winterfell. Robert couldn't do that to his best friend.
Robert, instead decided another course of action. He insisted in a wedding contract between Joffrey and Sansa. At the end, both families will be together.
For now, Sansa will stay with her family so they could mourn Brand in peace but in a week, she had to go to King's Landing and remain with Joffrey so everyone could see her as the fiancée of the future king.
Robb y Theon would travel with her. Ned wouldn't let he a stranger in King's Landing.
Meanwhile, Jon, sad about Bran, decides to go to the Wall with his uncle Benjen.
Cersei Lannister, queen of the seven kingsoms hide her happiness about the child's death. Jaime too, but he wasn't enthusiast about it.
All of this because of their forbidden love. An incest love which would end in their death if King Robert learn about it.
Tyrion suspect that her sister was upon something but couldn't learn anything.
Then, Robert decides to return to his home and name Stannis as his hand of the king. He would be delighted and Renly would protest, but he doesn't care.
He doesn't like any of his brothers but either of them would be a better option than Tywin Lannister. The only good thing about this tragic day, besides the marriage contract, is he could organize another hunting and damned the rest of the kingdom.
If he is lucky, it could be a great hunt and maybe the Targaryan problem could be resolved too.
