Chapter 1: The Fear Man
It was evening in the feudal era. Kagome shivered, "It's getting cold." She said.
Miroku came over and put an arm around her shoulder, "I'll keep you warm, Lady Kagome." He said.
Sango smacked him in the back of the head and Inu Yasha pulled her away from him, "Get a clue!" the hanyo growled.
Sango then shivered too. "It is getting kind of nippy." She and Miroku went off to the side of the road. "Inu Yasha, mind if we camp here for tonight?"
He waved his hand, "Whatever."
They took that as a yes. Kagome set her backpack down then noticed something on the ground that caused her to jump back and scream at the top of her lung. Shippou winced and the scream caught everyone's attention.
"What is it?!" Inu Yasha asked.
Kagome went white with fear, "It's a-! It's a-!"
Inu Yasha shouted, "WHAT?!"
Kagome shouted, "SPIDER! It's huge!"
Inu Yasha face faulted and everyone else sweatdropped.
Shippou jumped onto Miroku's shoulder, "Where is it?!"
"It went under my backpack!" Kagome backed away from it.
Miroku walked over and lifted her pack, "Don't worry lady Kagome, it's more afraid of you then you are of it, it's just a tiny little-GOOD LORD it's humungous!" he dropped the pack.
Kagome yelped in fear and scrambled behind Inu Yasha. "Kill it! Kill it!"
Sango went over and lifted the pack to look at it. She tossed the bag aside, gasped, and took a step back.
"It's crawling!" Shippou shouted.
"KILL IT!" Kagome screamed.
"Oh, please." Inu Yasha rolled his eyes. He went over and stepped on the spider. What was gross, was everyone heard a pop and a crunch. Kagome shivered, "GROSS!"
"Well you wanted me to kill it!" he complained. She still looked grossed out and traumatized.
"Feh," he said and sat on the ground, "You are such a chicken."
"I'm not a chicken!" Kagome said frowning at him.
"You're afraid of something a thousand times smaller then you are." He said.
"That's the point though!" she shivered as she thought about it. "It's so small and fast, you don't know where it's going to go!"
Inu Yasha sighed again and said, "Feh, wench."
"Sit."
WHAM!
In a nearby village, a man came out as the sun went down. He was completely dressed in black and kept his hands hidden in his robes. He walked to a town where a girl was walking home. She saw the man coming and since it was the villages custom, she welcomed the visitor with open arms. "Welcome to our village sir! Would you like me to give you a quick tour of the town? I could introduce you to the lord of our land, or to some local artisans so you could get acquainted with the prices of souvenirs and-"
Suddenly the man raised his head and looked her in the eye. She stopped talking. His eyes were large and mysteriously hypnotic. "What do you fear?" he hissed. A few seconds later she blinked and her eyes were pure white. A look of horror came over her expression and she started screaming. She fell on the ground raising hell and villagers started to come to her rescue. The man turned to look at them all with his strange eyes. "I am the fear man." He said. "Let me feast on your terror!"
