She gently caressed her hair, running her fingers through it along side the brush. Glancing up at her reflection, she grimaced at it. Who am I anymore...

She had been tucked away from the outside world, safe. Safely tucked away from prying eyes in this manor she now called home. Seldom setting foot outside unless accompanied by Kaname or her official babysitter Aidou.

Sighing deeply, she placed her brush down on the table and walked over to the window.

I wonder how much things have changed... the academy.. father.. Yori... Zero...

A silent tear rolled down her face and fell to the floor.

It had been difficult not to think about him.. Was he alright? Was he still attending the academy? Was he still a guardian? Did he miss her...

No... that's right... he hates me because I turned out to be the thing he hates most, a vampire..

A sob escaped her lips as she held herself shaking slightly as she silently cried.

"Zero..."

Another sleepless night, he groaned as he rolled over putting his hand over his face.

At this rate I may never sleep again... His blood lust had increased lately, inhibiting his ability to sleep.

Flashback

"Can't sleep?" Yuki walked past him to reach for a glass in the cupboard. He grunted in response, taking a sip from his own glass.

"Me neither", she smiled as she opened the fridge, its light brightening the darkened room, emphasizing her vibrant smile. Zero turned his head away, blushing slightly. Walking over to him, she stood next to him at the table.

"You don't sleep much at all do you?"

His glance shot up to her.

"You're in here almost every night.." She frowned as her eyes softened, "You're up most of the night.. and awake all day.."

He averted his gaze back down to his glass and frowned, she was concerned about him..

She placed her hand gently on his shoulder, "I.. worry about you you know..."

"Promise me you'll try to get more sleep..."

Taken back, he simply nodded. She smiled at him and made her way back over to the doorway.

"Good night Zero.."

"... Good night.. Yuki."

He groaned and sat up.
Why must these memories haunt me... He gazed out the window to the moon, high in the sky, another sleepless night..

"Yuki..." He whispered.
