Prologue

It had been years since Alice Johnson has been in Springwood Ohio. She dreaded having to take the trip back after she had left with her son Jacob. Her son was now only 7 years old. Alice had always wondered if her son remembered what had happen with the man known as Freddy Krueger. She never asked though she didn't want to have him remembering that man of nightmares at all. But here she was driving them back to Springwood. Her father had recently passed away and she knew she had to take care of the funeral arrangements. She was nervous being back. She was also very skeptical about being back at all. She didn't like the fact her father had passed away in his sleep. She sighed deeply to herself and looked at her son, who was just sitting in the backseat of her car quietly. "Jacob. Do you want to stop at the toy store once we get into town?" She asked trying to cheer up her son. "Can we mommy? Do you think they will have those good guy dolls there?" He asked excitedly. All she could do is smile to herself. "If they do, I will buy you one champ what do you say to that?" she gave him a quick smile as she drove past the sign of the town of Springwood. Jacob gave a simple excited bounce in his seat. Alice sighed in deeply. She was really hoping that nothing like the old days of her nightmares would happen again. She wanted to keep her son safe. She didn't want him to have to relieve any of the horrors of this town. She hoped being able to buy him a doll from a children's show he was into would help keep him happy and she would do anything to keep her son happy. He was all she had left. Freddy had taken so much from her. She didn't want her son to live that life. That's why she left Springwood to start a new life. Alice was so distracted with her thoughts she nearly passed to toy store until Jacob spoke up. "Mommy there it is!" he said with enthusiasm in his voice. Alice smiled as she pulled into the parking lot and parked the car. Jacob didn't even wait for her before unbuckling his seat belt and getting out of the car. "Jacob!" she sighed as he ran into the store as she got out herself. She took a breath of air into her lungs, the memories where coming back to her. She walked in after him into the store, looking down the aisle of children toys of all kinds until she finally spotted him. Picking up a good guy doll box that was almost big as him. "Jacob don't run off like that again." She scolded him. "I won't mommy, but can we get this one, please mommy." He pleaded with his mother his deep blue eyes giving the saddest look he could manage. "Yes we can." she simply laughed as she walked her son to the cashier. The women smiled at both Alice and Jacob and tried scanning the box but was surprised that there was not any price popping up. The cashier put in the normal price of the good guy dolls and Alice paid her as Jacob had a big grin on his face. "Sorry about the hassle mam." The cashier apologized as Alice gave a simple nod. Jacob grinned as he carried the box to the car once he got in and buckled up. He grinned and ripped open the box removing the doll from it. Alice gave a soft laugh. "Hi I'm Jacob whats your name?" Jacob asked excitedly. "Hi. I'm Chucky, wanna play?" The doll responded as it moved and blinked.
