Today marks 1 year exactly since I joined the fanfiction website!! I am so proud of how far I have come with this, and all the people that have supported me! I've had friends come and go, but even those who are gone... I still thank you for helping me become the author I am today. There are so many times I have just wanted to quit, but you were there to encourage me to keep moving forward.

It seems like just yesterday I wrote Morro's Life Story... but nope. It'll be a year 4 days from today. Speaking of which, that is what we are here for. As a one year celebration, I am rewriting my first fanfic.. Morro's Life Story!! Welcome to chapter one!

Rachel Grant sat in her bedroom writing in a journal. She kept looking over at a baby crib across the room, where a raven-haired infant slept peacefully. She smiled slightly, but it was a painful smile. She knew she wouldn't have long with her precious baby boy. She sighed as she finished her journal entry and lay in bed. She stared at the ceiling for a few minutes before falling asleep.

~Morro's Life Story (2018)~

A raven-haired infant squirmed around in his crib. He felt trapped. He didn't like the idea of being kept in such a small area. Maybe he was claustrophobic? It didn't matter.

What had made the whole situation worse was the two faces peering over at him. One was familiar, for it was that of his mother. The other one was a new face... one he had never seen before. It was a girl; he knew that much. Her eyes were brown and she had chesnut hair with a red streak running down the right side. Her skin was pale and she had freckles covering most every inch of her face.

"Mommy? What is it?" the girl asked.

"This is your brother." Rachel replied.

Morro was still confused as who the girl was. And what did brother mean?

"But... but I don't want a brother! I wanted a new dolly." the girl whined.

"Now now, Samaria. You know I can't buy you a new doll."

So Samaria was her name...

"But you could buy the baby?!" Samaria asked, shocked.

"I didn't buy him, Samaria."

"Take him back!"

"I can't."

Samaria began to screech. The loud noise startled Morro and he began to cry. Rachel sighed heavily and picked up Morro. She began to gently rock him back and forth.

"Samaria... go. Now." Rachel demanded.

Samaria glared at her mother. "I still expect you to buy me a dolly." she walked away.

As the months went on, Samaria began to grow fonder of Morro. Morro didn't like her, though, for every time she came into his room, it was with a bunch of her doll clothes and makeup. She would force him into the dresses and attempt to do his makeup. That always resulted in Morro crying and Samaria getting in trouble.

Over time, Morro had discovered a way to get away from his sister. He had learned to crawl. If he crawled away really fast, maybe... JUST MAYBE Samaria wouldn't catch him.

"Oh Moooorrrrrooooo?" Samaria called, entering the bedroom.

Morro perked up in his crib, at hearing his sister's call. She walked over and picked him up. Morro knew what this meant; another dress up session.

"I have a pretty new dress for you!" she exclaimed, setting Morro down.

This was his chance. He began to crawl away vioently.

"Hey!" Samaria stood and chased him.

Morro crawled as fast as he could. He slipped and landed flat on the hardwood floor. He started to cry again.

"Morro?" Rachel walked up to Morro and picked him up.

He sighed an adorable sigh of relief as his mother carried him to safety. Samaria huffed and left to her room.

Morro was sent back into his room where he fell into a peaceful sleep.

Well lookit that. Another rushed first chapter!!! Last year I also had a rushed first chapter. I can't believe it's been a year since I joined fanfiction!!! Whelp hope you have a good day!
