"Leah, where do the spoons go?"
"Abby, they go right next to the forks."
"Oh."
Abby and Leah are moving into their new house, with a child , and Simon and Bram living across the street from them. Life was good. They named their baby girl Nicole. She had Leah's green eyes, and someone's black hair and asian skin. Their house was a beautiful, rich, tangerine color. Leah was a sociologist and Abby was a fashion designer. Everything was fine. They still lived in Shady Creeks (kind of a cliche, but whatever), and they were finally the normal, Shady Creeks rich, so they could provide for Nicole. This was perfect.

I smile and close my laptop. C.J. is my most punctual and Oreo-loving best friend. She was my first best friend, back when we were adorable little babies. The lights are off, but I need music to fall asleep. I need the Bleachers. I press play on my Ipod, and the music flows through my head. Alfie's Song (Not So Typical Love Song) calms me. I close my eyes and wonder if I'm ever going to come out as non binary and I like girls to anybody, ever. Jack Antonoff's voice washes over me, and I fall into a deep sleep.
