Authors Note: Sorry if the beginning sucks, I'm not very good at starting stories

"Sorry," I said after spinning away from Killer Moth, my cape flying in the wind, "I don't work for anyone but myself." I walked away from him, but I stopped after he called something to me.

"My daughter needs protection, Red," he called after me.

"Protection," I repeated, "protection from who?"

"Not who," he corrected me, "but what." I turned around to face him, but all he could tell me is that it wasn't human in any form or way. "I'll pay you for your services," he resulted, trying one last tatic to get me on board.

"Pay? We're talking money, right?"

"None other." He waited for a moment before asking if we had 'a deal', his hand extended towards me.

"Okay." I put my hand in his and shook firmly, "I'll help your kid, for all she's worth."

"I might be a little in over my head," I thought aloud when Kitten and I met face to face. The only thing on her that wasn't pink was her hair and her skin. She was presenting herself as the type of girl who gets whatever she cried for (and that's exactly who she was).

"But daddy," she whaled, "I don't want a body guard! I get plenty of protection from you and my boyfriend." Boyfriend? Who would date her?

"Yes sweetie, but I've already paid the lad."

"You paid him," she yelled, fire coming out of her ears. I dug through my pocket some more and pulled out my payment as proof. More fire escaping her. This girl has some major anger issues.

"Yea," Moth said looking back at me, "thanks for that."

"Hey; I'm here to help her, not you," I said with a small shrug. Kitten crossed her arms over her chest and huffed, turning her head away from her father.

"Fine, whatever," she said, walking back to her room. "Be back here tomorrow." She opened the door and looked back at us, "I've got to go to school." She slammed the door shut behind her.

"Some girl you got there," I said sarcastically.

Killer Moth pointed towards an exit and growled, "Get out." I chuckled and walked away, passed the hoard of moths, and out the door.

"Well, this should be eventful," I mumbled under my breath. I jumped in the air and pressed the middle button on my utility belt, then flashed back towards my house.
