The princess watched the leader of the Kyoshi Warriors struggle ferociously in her chains.
"You know most of my citzens would die to be in your place right now," the princess pointed out with more than a hint of arrogance. She rubbed her hand across the warrior's face. "I rarely show interest in unimportant persons such as you. But there's something different about you. You should be proud."
Suki jerked back. She wanted her face out of the sadistic princess' reach.
"I don't feel honored," Suki retorted. "I feel disgusted."
"You're obviously not familiar with the prophecy," Azula sneered. "The Fire Nation prophets spoke about me before I was born. I am blessed by the gods."
Suki couldn't believe it. She almost felt bad for the Fire Nation. They admired and idealized Princess Azula. It was obvious that the Fire Nation was even more messed up than she had ever imagined.
"So you picked me because I'm different?" Suki began. "Is it as in that I'm special? Or just that I'm not Fire Nation? I think it's the latter. You don't want to get close anyone from your nation. If you did you'd have to be constantly on guard. Because if they find out the truth, they'll know the prophecy is false. That you're not heaven-sent."
"You're wrong," Azula cackled. "I picked you because you're more of a challenge. None of my people would talk to me like that. Is it wrong to want some sort of variety?"
