Our Little Secret
She swept her auburn hair over her left shoulder. Cursing herself, silently as the muggle mobile phone made a ridiculous noise as it turned on. Biting her lip as she looked over, only see the man stir slightly before grasping at the pillow once and again and returning to his slumber. She let out a breath she was painfully aware that she had been holding, before turning her attention back to the illuminated machine she held in her hand.
She typed out the simple message, before pressing send. The number she sent it to was the only one programmed into the mobile. It was the only reason she had the damn thing. She switched it to silent. Placing it back in the wooden box and latching it shut. Silently she climbed back into bed. The man next to her stirred.
" Gin?" Ginny winced as she turned to face the emerald eyes staring back at her.
"I'm fine Harry, go back to sleep."
" 'Kay" Harry buried his body under the covers once again.
Ginny glanced over to the wooden box. He hadn't noticed anything was wrong. That was good. It wouldn't do to have him suspect anything. Not now. Not after they have tried to hard to hide it, for so long. She pushed herself under the covers and closed her eyes.
"It wouldn't do at all."
Draco Malfoy, lay in his bed, trying his hardest not to touch the peroxide blonde woman who seemed to be reaching for him even in her sleep. He turned to her and scoffed. He could smell the alcohol still on her breath and he wondered why anyone would ever find that attractiveHis thoughts cruelly managed to remind him that he was the one married to her. He sneered as he threw the covers of himself. His feet slapped the cold slate floor as he stood up.
Leaving the room and walking downstairs, he glanced at the clock, 3:45am before stepping into the drawing room just of the hallway. He pulled the desk draw open and reached in, withdrawing a wooden box and unlatching it. From within the box he took out a mobile phone. He opened the single unread message and read the simple words even though he already knew what it would read.
Replying to the message with a simple "I'm always there." he placed the phone back into the box, latching it shut. He then put the box back into the draw and closed it. He exited the room and walked back the stairs, climbing back into the bed. The woman next to him stirred.
"Drakey?" Draco winced has he heard that ridiculous nickname that she used.
"Go back to sleep Pansy." He told her, quite viciously
"Where did you go?" she slid up his body, hands on his chest
"Pansy, just go to sleep will you?" he grabbed his pillow and fluffed it violently, before turning away from the fake blonde and feigning sleep.
He wasn't sure how long she sat their staring at him, but around fifteen minutes later he heard her whisper "You never tell me anything Draco" But he wasn't planning on telling her, not after he had kept it a secret for so long, not after they had protected this secret so well for so many years. It wouldn't do for her to find out.
It wouldn't do at all.
