His Annoyingly Cute Ron-ish Way
It was after lunch and Hermione, Harry and the Weasleys, with the exception of Bill and Fleur who had just left on their honeymoon, were all lazing around the living room.
Hermione looked out at the window. It was a beautiful summer afternoon and she did not want to be cooped up inside. She nipped upstairs to grab her book from the nightstand of the bedroom she was sharing with Ginny, and then headed outside.
She made her way across the yard, towards the hammock strung between two trees near the edge of the wood at the back of the Weasleys' property. She curled up on her side and faced towards the trees, her back to The Burrow.
A few minutes later she heard footsteps behind her and saw Ron, who proceeded to slip in next to her. She acknowledged his presence, but continued to read.
He wrapped an arm around her middle and kissed her bare shoulder lightly. He had become magically sweet and was always doing little things like this ever since they had gotten together at Bill and Fleur's wedding, and Hermione was loving it.
Hermione could tell that Ron wanted more than just to cuddle. And though she very much wanted to abandon her book and snog him right back, she decided instead to pointedly ignore him, just to bother him.
But Ron would not give up that easily; he continued trying to distract her from her book. He bounced up and down in the hammock, and swung it from side to side, he waved his hand in front of her face, he sung out of tune loudly and obnoxiously in her ear, he tugged playfully at her hair and covered her eyes, all in his annoyingly cute Ron-ish way. But still Hermione just smiled, then continued ignoring him and went right back to her book.
Ron was enjoying their little game, but he was starting to run out of ideas. He ran his fingers lightly up and down her arm. She flinched a little because it tickled her. This gave Ron a brilliant idea. Recalling how ticklish Hermione was, he blew softly on the back of her neck, causing her to kick and flail wildly at the tickling sensation. However, Ron's overly long limbs got in the way and he toppled ungracefully out of the hammock.
Hermione gasped and clasped a hand to her mouth, and glanced at Ron to make sure he was alright. When she saw that there would be no lasting damage, she simply rolled her eyes, rolled over and returned to her book.
Ron was not to be discouraged; he picked himself up, brushed himself off and slipped back into the hammock. With a mischievous smile on his face, Ron, under the pretence of putting his arm around Hermione, slipped his arm around her waist again, but when his hand was close enough, he snatched the book out of her hands.
"Ron!" Hermione cried, she tried to grab the book back, but his arms were far longer than his, and he was holding it out of her reach. Hermione lunged wildly for the book, making them off balance and sending them tumbling out of the hammock.
They landed in a heap a few feet away from the hammock, Ron pinning Hermione to the ground. Their faces were barely an inch apart. "Prat." Said Hermione jokingly, a smile playing on her lips.
"But you love me anyways." Said Ron. He closed the gap between the two of them; Hermione did not object. When they broke apart Ron said, "Much more fun than reading eh?" Hermione rolled her eyes, she merely pressed her lips against his in response. She hated it when he was right.
