Lost Hearts

Chapter I The Accident

"Argh!" yelled teenager Lili Honea, "This bites!"

"The teacher really threw the book at you this time, didn't she?" questioned the close friend Kohaku.

It was summer, and Lili, a middle school girl, was forced to do an essay on respect to hand in when school starts. She had (once again) fallen asleep in class, and the teacher was feed up.

"Well," said Nana, a college student who picked the two up after school and Kohaku's aunt, "It could be a lot worse. An essay isn't as bad as it seems."

Lili let out a small sigh. As the two climbed into Nana's car, they began to talk about the trip to Kohaku's father's lab, the one they had been planning about for a month.

As they arrived, Kohaku's father greeted the trio and ushered them inside. He began to talk about the chemicals in the brain when something caught Lili's attention. A silver bottle, sitting on the top shelf, had a beautiful blue liquid inside.

"Pardon, sir?" she asked, "What is that used for?"

Kohaku's father took the vile from the shelf. "This might someday be used for memory repercussion. I designed it myself," he said proudly.

This was the last thing Lili would hear before her life was completely flipped. A man that worked for Kohaku's father came up from behind them and slapped him on the back, saying, "Good job!" The vile slipped out of his hands and spilled onto Lili's arm. She had recently had gotten a cut from climbing a tree, and the wound was still slightly open. The liquid slid into the cut and reacted with her blood. Lili's blue eyes flashed for a moment, then she passed out.

"LILI!!"

Konoha

It was midnight, and three young children, one fourteen, the other two twelve, had awoken from a startling dream. It was about a girl whom they had known, but had completely forgotten.

The eldest, Neji Hyuuga, bounded from his bed when he awoke from the dream. He immediately started to search through some albums that he had in his room, searching for the girl with silver eyes like his. Soon, a knock came at his door. He opened the door to find his cousin, Hinata Hyuuga, standing there.

"Neji-sama?" she asked, "Did you have the same dream?"

"A person we knew but can't remember? Yeah." He gestured to her to help him search the photos. She came, and after a while, she jumped slightly.

"Neji-sama!" she exclaimed, "I found her!"

Neji looked over at the photo Hinata found. Neji exclaimed quietly, "That's her!"

Hinata turned the photo over. There, in beautiful kanji, was:

Usagi Hyuuga, Neji, and Hinata.
