John Smith came dashing into his house as fast as he could. He ran through the kitchen and up the stairs, taking them two at a time. He flung his and Rose's bedroom door open with gusto. He jumped onto his bed next to his sleeping wife on all fours like his four year old son sometimes did in the mornings.

"Rose. Rose! Wake up!" John exclaimed excitedly, shaking Rose awake.

"What is it?" Rose mumbled. She turned to look at the clock sitting on her bedside cabinet. "What are you doing up at four in the morning? And fully clothed at that?" she asked, sitting up and looking at him.

He just looked at her like a five year old Christmas morning. His eyes gleamed with excitement.

"She's done," he said almost reverently.

Rose stared at him confusion for a second. She wondered if the last few sleepless nights had finally gotten to him. Suddenly, realization dawned. John nodded enthusiastically as her eyes widened in shock.

"She's done?" she asked in disbelief.

John nodded again.

"She's ready to go. Want to go break her in?" John asked energetically.

Rose suddenly frowned. She didn't want to leave her kids all alone in the house.

"A time machine, remember?" John asked temptingly.

Rose bolted out of bed and grabbed a sweater and pulled it on over her jim jams. John gave a loud whoop as he bounded off the bed and ran outside with Rose close on his heels. They quickly reached the shed where they had been hiding her as she finished growing.

Rose stood and admired her for a second. She looked just like she remembered, but a little bit newer looking. Rose hoped the interior had stayed the same as well. John watched her enthusiastically as she drank it all in.

"She's brilliant," Rose whispered, looking over at John.

John smiled widely and produced a shiny silver key from his pocket and held it up in between them.

"The Doctor, in the TARDIS, with Rose Tyler. Just as it should be," John said, repeating what the original Doctor had said years before on Bad Wolf Bay.

Rose just stared at the key. She suddenly grabbed it from his hand and ran to the door to unlock their TARDIS.

"It's Rose Smith, mister," she said, playfully scolding him as she unlocked to door and stepped into the TARDIS.

"Mr. and Mrs. Smith off to see the universe," John whispered to himself. "I like the sound of that."

He turned and walked into the TARDIS, ready to fly off and have new adventures with Rose.
