Brooke entered the library and returned her books. She was there to find a few books on Atoms and Molecules for the project. She wasn't really surprised that Bobby Glass told them it was due tomorrow because it was torture. But she always wondered why Mrs. Glass considered teaching if she didn't like teaching them? Brooke walked into a science fiction section and peered at all the books. Molecules, Atoms, Brooke took out a hardcover on Atoms and looked through it. Brooke took out at least five books on the topic and walked towards the checkout counter. She then bumped into someone.
"I'm so sorry!" a woman said." Are you alright?" Brooke looked at the woman. She had short blonde hair with a few signs of graying. The woman looked down at her." Brooke?"
Brooke couldn't believe it. Was this her mom? Brooke tried to figure out whether it was her real mom or just a stranger. No doubt. It WAS her mom." Mom?" Brooke asked quietly." Is that you?"
Her mom smiled." Yes!" she hugged Brooke but Brooke didn't hug her back. She was just shocked. Or was she just mad that her mom had left? Her mom had noticed her look and let go." I see you're mad."
Brooke couldn't smile even though she wanted to." Mom, how could you just go and leave me like that? Was I not important to you?" she couldn't keep her voice down. She was just mad.
