He knew, he had not much time, but still. His heart was aching every time he thought about leaving the place he had come to call his home. His home. His black eyes shimmered as the moonlight broke upon them. A soft wind tickling his cheeks and messing his blue hair.

There were only few moments, where he let his guard fall down and his thoughts wander off. The sky looked exactly the same as it was over there. This was nothing he could fight, the steady wish to be at two places at the same time. His eyes wandered to a place he knew well and even here he could hear the voices of this noisy guild. A smile sneaked up his face, making the sad expression disappear. Oh, he loved this place, he really did. Maybe it would be time to show him to them. A weak excuse for what will happen soon, he then thought, but he wanted to.

He shook his head, no. Now was not the time to become more involved with this guild. He had other things to worry about than his comrades. Again he watched the stars glimmer palely in the sky, where the moon enthroned in his cold light. Somehow he compared himself with the night sky. A cynic grin showed up in his face, as he realized what he was thinking about. Like the moon and the stars, eh?

As he stood up his staves made a clacking noise. He flinched. That was not like him at all, to be this jumpy. He sighed heavily, rubbing his tired face with his hand. All he had to do now was putting on his mask and walk back to his apartment. Even though he knew that, he couldn't turn away his eyes from that very building that gleamed brightly into the dark night. His pupils widened as he remarked something he had not until now. He felt a warm touch in his heart as he looked at the guild, again, feeling warmth. A rather shy smile appeared on his face. Maybe it was time to go there and apologize, apologize for not being a better member.

Suddenly a cold vibe crossed his body. There it was. He put on his mask and disappeared into the woods, leaving nothing but a bit of mist behind him. It seemed that today was not the day either. He regretted it, as he did often, but he had no choice. Either it was him not properly knowing his guild or it would mean suffering for other people. With that in mind he was able to fight.

"Hey, Erza, what are you spacing out?" Natsu asked the woman with scarlet hair, standing before her and breathing fire.

"Nothing, it was only the feeling, that today we missed something, you know." She responded, still looking out of the window beside her. Natsu was absolutely not happy with that answer and attacked her; it was dodged easily.

Maybe it was just her imagination, but hadn't it been Mystogan standing out there in the woods?

Disclaimer: I don't own Fairy Tail or any of the characters appearing.

Hey there!

So, how did you like the story? I'd be really glad to hear some comments… even when you have to complain about something. :D I think I can deal with that. I think Mystogan is a really interesting person. I hope he didn't get too OoC with those strange thoughts I let him have. My first fanfiction here so I really want to know if it's good or bad... (also for my ego, since English isn't my first language xD)
