Author's note: Just a drabble about the Insane Children giving themselves names
I own NOTHING (wish I did, but I don't)
"Alright, we should be safe here." the Insane Child Leader sighed, shutting the door behind her. She and her four friends had escaped the Dollmaker and were finally at the safe place they called Fort Resistance. They didn't know where it came from or who built it, but they knew it was the safest place among the dollhouses.
"Are you alright, Leader?" the little red-headed girl asked.
The Insane Child Leader checked herself over, and she was fine, save for tears streaming down her face. Side effect of having one's eyes pinned open, she supposed. "I'm fine... er... what was your name?" the Leader responded, unhappy that the names of her friends were not coming to mind.
"I don't have one." the red-head said sadly.
"Me neither." the girl with the crank in her head mentioned.
"Nor do I." the boy with the head-gear added.
"Mrrfl!" was the sound the boy with the bound lips made, which was assumed to be another statement about being nameless.
"Well, it isn't proper for you not to have names. Let's see..." the Leader girl paced back and forth, her teddy bear dragging on the ground from her hand. "Let's start with... you," she pointed a finger at the boy with sewn lips, "Your skull cap makes a clacking sound, like a castanet. Therefore, you are Castanet."
"Grrble!" Castanet nodded, his head clacking predictably.
"Good. Now, um... you," she turned to the boy with the head-gear, "Your head looks like an orange that's been cut up. How's Orange Slice sound to you?" she asked.
"I do like oranges!" he replied, smiling.
"Great. Um, now you, with the crank. Does Cranksy sound okay to you?"
"Yup, I like it." Cranksy said.
"Last is you," the Insane Child Leader pointed to the little red-head. "You look like a Gretchen." The other children nodded and murmured their agreement.
"I love it!" Gretchen replied, hugging the Leader. "But... you still need a name, Leader."
"I don't... I don't have any ideas." the Leader sighed.
"Your smile is pretty..." Orange Slice said softly.
"Pretty." Cranksy echoed.
"Can we call you Smile?" Gretchen queried.
"Okay, I'm Smile now." the Leader said.
And for the first time since they escaped the Dollmaker, the Insane Child Leader's smile reached her eyes.
