The Life and Times of Jennifer Marie Prezzioso
Chapter 1: Four Years Old
A/N brilliant new idea! This is from the point of view of at first bratty little kid then responsible BSC member, an excerpt from many years of her life. Hope u enjoy this. Will not be updated regularly---cuz I'm working hard on Back to Shadow Lake in my spare time, mostly. Yup, thanks for listening to me blab!
"Mommy can we go to the ice cream parlor?" I ask Mommy. She is not going to mind that I am wearing a very expensive new party dress if I put on a napkin as a bib.
"Oh not today angel" Mommy says back to me.
"Why Mommy? I've been good all day."
"It is only noon. And we have to bring your sister to a modeling job."
"Again?" I stamp my foot. "Not fair!"
"Claudia and Mary Anne are both coming to watch, all right honey?"
"Oh are they coming to keep me company? Yay!"
Mommy frowned and shook her head. "No, angel. Claudia has never seen Andrea work before, and Mary Anne is the basic babysitter."
I have no choice. I have to go with Mommy, my dumb baby sister and my babysitters. Even though my sitters are nice I am still not happy.
"Hi Jenny" says Claudia.
"Hello Jenny Bunny" Mary Anne says. I smile. That name is funny.
"Whatchya doing?" Claudia asks.
"I'm playing stuffed animals" I say. "Let's play a game!"
Claudia shakes her head. "I'm sorry, but I think your Mommy is planning on leaving soon. But we can play in the car."
"No!" I say. "Then we can't bring the playhouse. It won't fit."
"I'm sorry," Mary Anne says. Golly, I've heard that a lot lately. It's either 'I'm sorry' or 'no.' Ever since that meanie baby came along I never get what I want. Grrrrrrrr.
That was a boring day! I sit around with my babysitters and mommy until Andrea comes out of the modeling space or whatever. But today is going to be fun because we are going to the zoo, not some modeling agency!
"Jenny angel, now let's turn around so I can tie your sash." I turned around and fingered my blue sash. It is soft. "Jenny! Please don't touch while I tie this."
I frowned. "Oh okay." I just looked at my spotty pattern of the dress. It is pretty.
Finally she was done. "Ready angel? Let's go into the car. I just need to get Andrea." Mommy got the bassi---bassin—the thing the baby is carried in. she could not hold my hand because her hands were already full carrying the baby.
We got there and Mommy had to pay admission. She carefully put the baby-carrying thing on the ground and told me to watch Andrea. I didn't want to watch the dumbo baby. But I had to.
"Look at the elephant!" I giggled. He was splashing around in the water. He looked so silly!
"That's nice," Mommy said. She was feeding Andrea a bottle. I frowned.
"Mommy! Please look! It is cool!" Mommy looked up for a second then looked back down.
We walked around and saw lots of animals that were either big or small. Then it was lunch time. Mommy said that this was going to be a late lunch. I can't read time but Mommy also said it was 2 o' clock.
"I want fries!" I told her.
"What do you say, princess?"
"Uh….please can I have fries?"
"Yes---yes you may have fries." We stood in line and then Mommy ordered fries. Yippee!
Then we sat down at a table while I started eating fries. Then Mommy exclaimed "Jenny! Your dress!"
I looked at my dress. Nothing was on it. "What is wrong, Mommy?"
"You must put a napkin over your dress!" Oh, gosh darn it. When I remember she doesn't notice and when I don't, she does! Not fair!
So then we were eating and very happy until I said "Ewwy! What's that smell, Mommy?"
"Oh dear." Mommy said. "Dear, we must go. It's Andrea, we----it's time to go home, angel."
"What! But Mommy—we haven't even seen the bears, or the tigers, or the---"
"I'm sorry angel. We have to go."
I HATE MY SISTER! SHE RUINS EVERYTHING!
