Authors Note: You may not have heard the announcement, but Chi-chi(my pet Chihuahua) and I now own Supernatural. Wait…I don't own a dog…or Supernatural. T.T
After November 2, 1983, the Winchester family was reduced to a newly widowed John, a no longer innocent four-year-old Dean, and a crying baby Sammy, who will never truly know the love of a mother. With the family friend Bobby Singer helping them out, the now small family had many worries and problems on their hands.
As they boys grew up, they grew to be two completely different people. They where like day and night, but still both skilled hunters. To put it simply, they where John's boys.
When John said 'jump', one of them would ask 'how high?' and one would ask 'why should I?'
When John told them it was time to leave a town, one would grab the bags and start packing, and one would gripe and complain, asking to stay a bit longer.
When they would hunt, one was a perfect shot, could hit the smallest target, and one had stealth, despite being long and gangly.
But despite all these differences, the boys had one thing in common. They where best together.
Since they were so different, one made up for what the other lacked. As a team, the only way to defeat them was to kill them separately, and even then, you had a snowballs chance in Hell at doing that. But if you did manage to kill one, they always seemed to come back. They where together, come hell or high water. Like day and night, one couldn't exist without the other.
So, even though John's boy's where different in every single way possible, one thing remained the same. They would always be together.
The 'come hell or high water' is a old saying meaning 'whatever troubles may come'. I thought it would be fun to use it.
I will also have another chapter of 'Only Child' out soon for all those who are reading that.
