Summary
The reapers are coming. They knew that but what they didn't know was that they had allies from before earth had space flight. This story is not going to be cannon.
The old saying "Living on borrowed time" was a saying Shepard knew well. Six months ago the reapers had almost came through the galaxy's back door. Now stuck in the brig for doing what needed to be done, the days are starting to blear together.
Then the call came in the form of James coming through the door telling Shepard that the defense comity needed her. Finally, after six months of waiting they could start planning on how to deal with the Reapers.
Little did she know that an hour later when Hackett sent out the message saying Earth had fallen that another message was sent from the depths of an old, forgotten Air Force complex that once went by the name of Cheyanne Mountain. Sent out to the depth of space the message would take days to reach its recipient but help would be coming.
