It was almost nine o' clock when James came in the common room after a tiresome day of tough training.
When he entered the common room it was vacant. Not a whisper could be heard. James was so terribly enervated that he went straight to the fifth-year boys' dormitory.
In the dormitory everybody was cuddled in their covers and very sound asleep. James went straight to his bed and went to sleep.
Morning came in the blink of an eye and everybody woke up as today was a big day but James couldn't wake up this early. His legs refused to stand on those two rather pale feet.
Somehow, he managed to stand up after struggling for fifteen minutes. Then he went to have a splash of ice cold water.
"Potter, do hurry up ... I can't hold up for so long!" yelled a worried Frank Longbottom worried as he was in terrible need!
Finally, James was out and went straight to the common room. Everyone was gathered around a sofa with Linger Worm-tail(Gryffindor house captain)standing on it. He was yelling out loud,
"Today as you all know is the final game of Quidditch! I already know we have got an outstanding team of course but I hope we all work harder to achieve our goals. This game is specifically depending on our outrageous Seeker!I hope James Potter will not make us loose on those RATTLE SNAKES!"(this is what Worm-tail calls the Slytherins in exasperation)
Then the whole team did a high five and went to training than wasting their time by waiting for breakfast in the great hall.
After an hour of practice, breakfast was served in the great hall.
As the team entered they could notice banners of Gyffindors and Slytherins all over the place.
Finally the whole Gryffindor table was filled. Fortunately the Slytherins were snorting in mid air.
Before the breakfast a speech was delivered by the headmaster and then the breakfast started. After the breakfast everybody rushed towards the ground where the Quidditch tournament was going to start.
Everybody was getting settled while James was getting ready. Somebody silently opened the door and stepped near James and said "Good luck James!" It was a voice as sweet as honeysuckle and similar to a robin. It was the first person to call him James - it was Lily Evans!
James was shocked at her arrival but at the same time walking on air. "Thanks!" he replied and they both headed towards the ground.
In the ground Madam Rosemary rehearsed the rules of Quidditch and then the game started. James flew for the snitch. His opponent was Lucius Malfoy; that pale white headed boy was facing James. He first eyed the snitch and stole after it. Then both of them got into a quarrel.
At the other side couple of girls were hooting and yelling out Gryffindor's slogan: "You might belong to Gryffindor, Where dwell the brave at heart. Their daring, nerve, & chivalry Set Gryffindors apart!"
Those girls were Lindsey Rupert,Nadine Patel,Paras Crow,Chang Lee,Molly Finns,Madge Marvin and Lily Evans.
They were assembled in the upper most row and suddenly someone (from the Slytherins of course) threw a Nickel Rush (a nickel rush was a wizardry radio active box but it reacted 10 minutes after it is active. These were banned after Vermissa Julie's incident). James spied it at once and found it in front of the girls most of them ran away at the sight of it but Lily was left alone and couldn't move or else it well be activated. James dashed towards her with a flash of light picked her up from one arm and put her on the other end of the ground!
At that moment Lucius got the snitch and the Slytherins won the final game!
"You saved my life and risked your game!" said Lily astonished.
"I couldn't just leave you their getting current waves in your whole body." James shouted back in reply and went away.
At that moment the whole team was quiet and were in great grief but at the same time happy for one thing that at least James had saved Lily's life!
