A/N: Just a little ficlet I wrote while I was rewatching HTTYD2, enjoy!
"HICCUP!"
Astrid heard Stoicks cry and turned around on her dragon and saw Toothless stalking towards Hiccup while he backed up into a sheet of ice.
Before she even knew what she was doing Stormfly was already halfway there when she saw Stoick running to protect his son.
She urged Stormfly to go even faster. She saw Hiccup put up a hand to stop his father as he let out one final plee for his dragon.
"TOOTHLESS"
A purple plasma blast aimed at Hiccups chest suddenly only hit ice as Hiccup and Stoick were suddenly swept up.
"HICCUP! STOICK!" Valka ran through the smoke desperately calling for her husband and son when she stopped in amazement.
A Deadly Nadder flew overhead with her husband and son clutched in its claws. A blonde girl was in the saddle with relieved look on her face.
Stormfly gently dropped Hiccup and Stoick to their feet and landed behind them. Valka ran towards Stoick and Hiccup and thanked all the gods that they were alright. She hugged them both and then slowly walked up to the blonde girl who had dismounted and was watching the tearful reunion.
"Thank you," Valka said with a nod of her head "you saved their lives"
"You're welcome, I'm Astrid by the way" Astrid replied, offering her hand.
Valka shook it with a warm smile and Hiccup let out an audible breath behind them.
Just then Drago screamed from atop Toothless where he flew above their heads and the moment was over.
